A multi-projection image display device using a plurality of image projectors to form one picture on a screen, in which images projected from the projectors are smoothly connected with one another, so that seams of the images do not appear conspicuously. The image display device has projectors and a screen laid out in such a manner that maximum image projection ranges of the respective projectors overlap the adjacent ranges. An image signal control unit for processing an image signal supplied from an external image input has, therein, a member for cutting out a partial image area dealt with by each projector, an image converting member for performing geometric transformation and local color correction of the partial image, and an arithmetic control member for controlling the image converting member on the basis of image information inputted from a screen state monitor camera. With this structure, smoothing of the seams between the images may be realized simply by image signal processing, and precise adjustment of the optical system of the projectors becomes unnecessary.

Multi-projection image display device

An image producing/displaying system which is capable of imaging the drama, which is generally developed, from different views independently includes a storage device and an information processing unit for progressing the drama on the basis of the data stored in the storage device to image the drama. Disclosed is an image processing arrangement to determine camera parameters and make a three-dimensional shaped model of an object from a single frame picture image in an easy manner in an interactive mode. There are provided arrangements for designating perspective directional lines and at least two directional lines which are orthogonal to one of the directional lines. There are further provided arrangements for inputting feature information from an actual image in an interactive mode, for inputting a knowledge information concerning the feature information, for calculating camera parameters of the actual image from the aforesaid information, and for making a three-dimensional CG model data in reference to the camera parameters, the feature information of an image and a knowledge information concerning the aforesaid information. With such arrangements, it is possible to make a three-dimensional model easily from one actual image having unknown camera parameters while visually confirming a result.

Three-dimensional model making device and its method

A method for decoding coded data is executed to use a decoder composed of plural decoding units, those units being parallel processors. The coded data is divided into a first and a second coded areas. A first decoding unit starts to decode the coded data from the head of the first coded area, that is, from the head of the overall coded data. A second processor starts the decoding process from the head of the second coded area, that is, from any location of code sequence from the head. If conflict takes place in the decoded data, the decoding device operates to repeat a trial-and-error operation for re-starting the decoding process from a new location close to the head of the second coded area. When the decoding process of the first decoding unit reaches the second coded area, if a right answer is found in the decoded result given by the second decoding process, it is picked up as the proper result.

In an image information retrieval network system having a file station storing a plurality of images to be searched in the form of compressed data by means of coding and at least one terminal station connected to the file station via a transmission line, the file station includes a processor for decoding compressed image data read from an image file to restore an original image, an image processor for processing the restored image data such as extracting a partial area thereof, and a coding processor for data-compressing the processed image data by means of coding. When a user at the terminal station designates a search condition, display mode, and control information for image processing, the file station reads the images satisfying the search condition from the image file, and causes the searched images to be subjected to the image processing designated by the control information. The processed image data are transmitted to the terminal station in the form of compressed data by means of coding.

An image of a size exceeding a reading surface area of an image input temperature is divided into a plurality of image portions such that the image portions resulting from the division have respective overlap regions. A position detectable mark is attached to each of the overlap regions. The plurality of image portions are joined together into one image by making use of the marks.

A document processor for processing a document image which includes both a table formed by a plurality of ruled lines, and characters to generate vector data defining the ruled lines comprises an image input device for reading an image of the document, a display for displaying the document image and a processor for processing the document image. The processor corrects a skew of the input document image, detects a successive black pixel area included in the skew-corrected image, detects a character area based on a size of a rectangle which circumscribes the successive black pixel area, and converts the image to a second document image having characters deleted and including only the ruled lines. Those line segments detected by horizontally scanning the second document image which are longer than a predetermined threshold are determined as horizontal temporary lines, and those segments detected by vertically scanning the second document image which are longer than a predetermined threshold are determined as vertical temporary lines, and data defining positons and sizes of those lines are stored. A plurality of horizontal temporary lines which are adjacent to each other are consolidated into one solid line and defining data for the horizontal ruled lines are determined. Similarly, a plurality of vertical temporary lines are consolidated and defining data for the vertical ruled lines are determined.

Method and apparatus for processing a document by utilizing an image

A retrieved image display method in an image file system in which image data records undergone a data compression and index records including positional information of the image data records are stored in a file medium. The method includes a first step to specify a partial region of a retrieved image to be displayed on a display screen, a second step to attain, based on positional information above included in an index record corresponding to the retrieved image, a recording position of an image date portion on the file medium corresponding to the partial region to be displayed and to partially read out image data from the image data record, and a third step to restore the compressed image data thus read out into the original image data and to display the restored image data on the display screen. In accordance with to the partial region specified in the first step, the operations of the second step and the third step are successively and repetitiously achieved for a plurality of retrieved images to thereby flip pages of the retrieved images on the display screen.

In a character pattern utilization system provided with a plurality of character patterns differing in size or style from one another for each of a plurality of characters which are associated with corresponding character codes, the character patterns of each type are compression-coded beforehand using one of a plurality of code tables which corresponds to the character types. Upon designation of a code and a pattern type for a character to be outputted, the compression-coded character pattern corresponding to it is restored using the code table corresponding to said pattern type and is outputted.

A document image to be corrected is read out from an image file which stores document images, converted into dots, and printed on a correction paper. An operator writes correction information on the correction paper which is in turn inputted to the image file system with an image reader. The image file system erases the dot image information of the image inputted with the image reader. The obtained correction information is synthesized with the original image read out from the image file. The synthesized corrected image is stored in the image file.

Herein disclosed is a method for storing data in a rotary type recording medium rotating in a predetermined direction in which the read of the information from one track to an adjacent track is conducted substantially continously when the head is moved in the first direction but discontinuously when the head is moved in a second direction reversed from the first one. The data is stored in at least one storage area on the recording medium such that data blocks are written in the order of tracks in the second direction, such that the newest data block leads in each track, and such that the data blocks in the storage area are read in the order from the newest one when the head is moved in the first direction.
