An ultrasonic surgical scalpel comprising a suction nozzle having a suction mouth which is open aside toward the direction different from that of the axis of the nozzle, and a suction regulating mouth formed in a suction pipe extending from the suction nozzle so as to communicate with a suction passage inside the suction nozzle. The suction mouth being open aside allows the leading end of the nozzle to be mad acute or round, thereby to enable the suction nozzle to be readily inserted and moved in subcutaneous or organic tissues while shattering the tissues with ultrasonic vibrations. When sucking out the tissues shattered with the vibrations, by selectively opening and closing the suction regulating mouth with a finger tip, sucking force for sucking out the tissues can be freely controlled with ease.

Ultrasonic surgical scalpel

A surgical suction tube has a relief path formed between a suction tube body for sucking subcutaneous tissues through a suction mouth and a fluid supply tube for supplying a fluid such as Ringer's solution around the suction mouth. Since the fluid sent through the fluid supply tube is permitted to flow into the suction tube body through the relief path, it is in no way blocked even when the fluid supply tube is closed with subcutaneous tissues, and consequently the surgical operation can be continuously performed without interruption.

Suction tube for use in surgical operation

A surgical suturing stapler uses a staple cartridge for containing substantially U-shaped staples, which cartridge can be detachably fitted into a cartridge holder placed between two jaws. The staples can be easily loaded into the staple cartridge by detaching the cartridge from the stapler. When closing the jaws between which the stapler cartridge is placed, the staples in the cartridge are discharged and inserted into bodily tissues or the like to be sutured. By using the staple cartridge magnetized, the staples of metallic material are magnetically retained within the staple cartridge.

Surgical stapler

A rinsing water supply system for supplying water to a rinsing unit of a developing apparatus in which photosensitive materials are processed and rinsed. The water supply system includes a pipe having a water supply passage through which water is introduced into the rinsing unit from a water source, a solenoid valve for opening and closing the water supply passage, and signal lines arranged along and integrally with the pipe and adapted for transmitting signals for operating the solenoid valve. This arrangement eliminates the necessity for installation of a signal transmission line independently from the water supply passage, for the purpose of transmitting signals for operating the solenoid valve.

Water supply system for developing apparatus

A surgical suction tube having a suction mouth open to a different direction from the axis of the tube and a fluid supply tube attached to the outside of the suction tube. With this suction tube, subcutaneous tissues such as fat can be efficiently aspirated by use of an aspirator without needlessly injuring blood vessels, nerve tissues and so on.

In a scalpel having a disposable blade and a handle for retaining the blade, the disposable blade is provided on its rear end portion with at least one tongue piece which can be held with a tool such as a needle holder or forceps. The replacement of the blade with another can be easily and promptly carried out while holding the tongue piece with the tool even in the midst of the surgical operation, so that the blades of various types different in shape can be properly used for each purpose.

Scalpel

In a medical apparatus using microwaves, a treating bed for carrying a patient to be subjected to thermal treatment is mounted slidably in and out of a microwave irradiation region defined within a protective frame so as to allow the patient to get on and off without difficulty. The slidable bed while carrying the patient can readily be placed in and out of the microwave irradiation region.

Apparatus using microwaves for thermotherapy

In photographic processing apparatus for developing, bleaching-fixing and washing photographic materials, a predetermined quantity of fresh wash water is supplied into a washing tank every time a predetermined amount of the photographic materials have been washed. The fresh wash water is provided by deionizing city water and is reservoired in a replenisher tank. In order to detect a predetermined loss of the fresh wash water in the replenisher tank, a conductivity increasing material is dissolved in the fresh wash water in the replenisher tank when a predetermined quantity of the deionized water is supplied so as to electrically connect a pair of electrodes disposed at a predetermined depth of the replenisher tank. A sterilizer is mixed in the fresh wash water to prevent bacterial growth in the replenisher tank. The conductivity increasing material and the sterilizer are prepared as a predetermined dose of mixture necessary and sufficient for the predetermined quantity of deionized water supplied into the replenisher tank.

Wash water reservoiring method

A surgical needle for suturing tissue which is curved so as to comprise a rear part having large curvature, a middle part having small curvature and a leading part having very small curvature, wherein the needle can be easily and smoothly stuck into tissue in suturing operations in cosmetic surgery, plastic surgery and similar surgery can be effectively carried out in safety.

Water deionizing apparatus

A needle base device for subcutaneously supplying electric current which simplifies surgical procedures and which saves time for plastic surgery such as hair removal by cauterization and/or coagulation of hair follicles, subcutaneous adipose tissues and/or sebaceous glands comprises a non-conductive plate-like member and a large number of conductive needles which are implanted on the plate-like member at a predetermined interval or spacing. The needles project from the plate-like member in substantially the same direction substantially in parallel to each other with the bottom thereof embedded in the plate-like member. The needles are conductively connected to each other to thereby allow simultaneous application of electric current thereto.

A method of processing a silver halide-containing photosenstitive material for color photography includes the silver-removing step in which silver which is formed by reduction in the color developing step is oxidized by a bleaching agent and further changed into a soluble silver complex by the action of a fixing agent. In this process, bleaching is carried out in both a bleaching bath and a bleach-fixing bath, and fixing is effected in the bleach-fixing bath. In the bleach-fixing bath, a stream of bleach-fixing solution is brought into contact with the emulsion coating surface of the color photosensitive material at a higher flow velocity than that of a stream of bleach-fixing solution which is circulated in the bath. The time for processing carried out in the bleaching bath is set so as to be shorter than the time for processing in a bleaching bath in a conventional method wherein removal of silver is effected by the combination of a bleaching bath and a fixing bath which involves no bleaching process, and also the total time for processing carried out in the bleaching and bleach-fixing baths is set so as to be shorter than the total time for processing in the bleaching and fixing baths in said conventional method. As bleaching and fixing agents, a ferric aminopolycarboxylic acid complex and a thiosulfate are particularly effectively employed, respectively.

Method of and apparatus for processing silver halide-containing

A method and apparatus for treating diseases such as a malignant tumor, lesions, etc., and for killing viruses, wherein microwaves between about 6 and 15 m in wavelength are irradiated within the patient's body. The intensity and direction of irradiation are controlled to assure a safe and optimum therapeutic effect within a short period of time. The irradiation devices are preferably arranged above and below the patient, and are reciprocally movable in the longitudinal direction of the patient. The heating temperature is set within the range of 37.degree. C. to 70.degree. C. A timer is provided for intermittent irradiation, and a temperature sensor is provided to sense the temperature in the patient's body, and to turn off the device or sound an alarm when the temperature exceeds a predetermined value.
