A recording medium cartridge capable of permitting energy to be effectively transmitted from a welding horn to a casing to highly improve welding between an upper casing member and a lower casing member which is carried out in order to integrally form the casing. The casing members are made of crystalline resin to which a filler such as glass fiber or the like is added.

A cleaning disc cartridge capable of concurrently cleaning both a magnetic head of a magneto-optical disc apparatus and an optical lens thereof without causing any error in reading of a signal. A rotating disc is provided on one surface thereof opposite to a magnetic head of the apparatus with a head cleaning member and on the other surface thereof opposite to an objective lens of the apparatus with lens cleaning members. The rotating disc includes a disc body which is provided with an inventory region defined on an inner peripheral side of a lens cleaning member arrangement region, a reproduction-only region defined on an outer peripheral side of the lens cleaning member arrangement region, and an information recording and reproducing region outside the reproduction-only region.

A magnetic tape cassette capable of improving sealing of the tape cassette when it is out of use, to thereby positively protect a magnetic tape arranged therein. The magnetic tape cassette includes an openable front lid and a rear lid arranged so as to cover a front opening of the tape cassette casing and is so constructed that the front and rear lids are provided with facing portions, respectively, which are arranged so as to face each other along an arc defined by the facing portion of the rear lid when the rear lid is pivotally moved relatively to the front lid to cover the protecting space for the magnetic tape and each lid is formed into an arc or slanting plane, resulting in the lids being closely associated with each other to a degree sufficient to ensure satisfactory sealing of the cassette when the front lid is pivotally moved to cover the opening of the casing.

A tape cassette having a synthetic resin casing accommodating a tape-like medium composed of an upper half casing, a lower half casing and a front lid, the upper and lower half casings being integrated by a plurality of fixing portions. A disc cartridge capable of permitting a hub to be constantly rotated about the center of rotation thereof without any eccentricity, to thereby ensure smooth and stable rotation of the disc. The hub is formed with three drive shaft inserting holes in a manner to be spaced from each other at equal intervals and positioned on a concentric circle of a predetermined radius defined about a center of rotation of the hub. The drive shaft inserting holes each are formed with a linear driven surface which is adapted to be contacted with a drive shaft inserted into the hole. The driven surface may be arranged at an angle of -30 to +30 degrees with respect to the center of rotation of the hub.

The post-treatment of the gate can be easy to improve productivity, the stroke range of the shutter can be precisely determined; the mounting and dismounting of the shutter on a recording/reproducing device as well as the sliding movement of the shutter is smooth. Further, the quality of the cartridge is improved.

An elastic lifter arranged on an inner surface of a casing of a disc cartridge to exert a pressing force on a disc is formed integrally with the casing and into a plate-like shape in such a manner that a proximal end thereof is connected to the casing and a distal end thereof is rendered free. Such construction permits the pressing force to be kept constant for a long period of time and effectively prevents damage to the disc, to thereby substantially improve durability and reliability of the disc cartridge while significantly decreasing the number of parts, facilitating assembling of the disc cartridge, and attains a decrease in manufacturing cost. The lifter may be formed at a proximal end thereof with a decreased thickness, to thereby facilitate bending of the lifter.

A tape cassette capable of permitting a reel spring to be readily and accurately positioned on a casing for its mounting to highly improve workability and productivity in manufacturing of the tape cassette. The tape cassette includes a reel spring which is abutted against tape reels for elastically holding them. The reel spring comprises a spring body formed at an intermediate portion thereof in a longitudinal direction thereof with a plurality of mounting holes through which the reel spring is mounted on an inner surface of an upper casing member. The spring body is provided on each of both sides thereof in the longitudinal direction with one or two positioning recesses, each of which is positioned adjacent to each of the mounting holes.

The protrusions and recesses are equally spaced apart along one and the same circle and are aligned in position to those formed on the reverse side of the same circular ring.
