A refrigeration cycle apparatus includes a refrigeration cycle circuit, a liquid receiver, a first valve and a second valve. The refrigeration cycle circuit includes a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger and an indoor heat exchanger. The liquid receiver is provided in a second section located in the refrigeration cycle circuit. The second section is a section extending between the outdoor heat exchanger and the indoor heat exchanger without extending through the compressor. The first valve is provided in a first section in the refrigeration cycle circuit, and is a solenoid valve or a motor valve. The first section is a section extending between the outdoor heat exchanger and the indoor heat exchanger through the compressor. The second valve is provided in the second section and between the liquid receiver and the indoor heat exchanger, and is an electronic expansion valve, a solenoid valve or a motor valve.

Refrigeration cycle apparatus

An air conditioner allows refrigerant to circulate therethrough. The air conditioner includes a compressor, a first heat exchanger, a first expansion valve, a second heat exchanger, and a controller. The controller changes an opening degree of the first expansion valve by a first operation amount according to a temperature difference between a target temperature and the temperature of the refrigerant discharged by the compressor. The refrigerant circulates through the compressor, the first heat exchanger, the first expansion valve, and the second heat exchanger. A first ratio when a specific condition is satisfied is larger than a second ratio when the specific condition is not satisfied. The specific condition indicates that the degree of subcooling of the refrigerant flowing between the first heat exchanger and the first expansion valve is smaller than zero. The first and second ratios are each a ratio of the first operation amount to the temperature difference.

Air conditioner and expansion valve control thereof

When a heating operation mode using a heating unit is specified and when a hot water supply request using the hot water in a hot water storage tank does not occur, an air conditioning apparatus transmits a first selection signal for selecting the heating unit to a three-way valve. When the heating operation mode is specified and when the hot water supply request occurs, the air conditioning apparatus transmits, to the three-way valve, a second selection signal for changing a destination of circulation of secondary refrigerant from the heating unit to a coil heat exchanger, and transmits an operation start signal to a refrigerant indoor unit.
