A communication device includes a communicator and a processor. The communicator communicates with external devices. The processor controls connection. While at least one of the external devices is assigned to a main external device which is a main connection target, the processor switches between a first period and a second period. The first period is a period to allow communication with an auxiliary external device which is not the main external device. The second period is a period not to allow communication with the auxiliary external device.

The central changes the timing in the received timing information so that the timing presented by the timing information received from the peripheral does not overlap with the timing presented by the already received timing information of the other peripheral. A time information obtaining device and a radio-controlled timepiece are shown. According to one implementation, the time information obtaining device includes the following. A code identifying section identifies each code of a code string in a radio wave. A first portion parity calculating section calculates a portion parity where a parity bit of a variable code is subtracted from a parity code showing a parity bit for a code string portion. A first portion parity deciding section decides a portion parity based on a calculated number of portion parities. A second portion parity deciding section obtains a portion parity from an invariable code other than the variable code. A parity confirming section confirms a match between the portion parities decided by the first portion parity deciding section and the second portion parity deciding section.

Time information obtaining device and radio-controlled timepiece

A time information obtaining device and a radio-controlled timepiece are shown. According to one implementation, the time information obtaining device includes a receiving section, a code identifying section, a decoding section, and a consistency confirming section. The consistency confirming section confirms consistency of time information. The consistency confirming section generates the selected code string using the following: (i) a matching selected code string portion in which, for a code string portion including a code which may change according to the time information, a type of code is selected based on a degree of match between an identified code string and a model code string; and (ii) a majority selected code string portion in which, for a portion other than the above, a type of code is selected by majority determination among the codes identified to be a same position.

A time information obtaining device and a radio-controlled timepiece are shown. According to one implementation, the time information obtaining device includes a noise determining section and a reception cancelling section. The noise determining section determines whether noise mixed in a demodulated signal of a radio wave received within a predetermined unit of time is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold level. The reception cancelling section cancels reception of the radio wave when a number of times that the noise determining section determines that the noise mixed in the signal is equal to or more than a predetermined level is included at a percentage equal to or more than a predetermined percentage within a set time including a plurality of the units of time.

An analog type electronic timepiece including a plurality of hands for displaying a time; a driving unit for electrically driving the hands; a receiver for receiving and demodulating a radio wave containing a time code signal; and a second synchronization determination unit for determining a second synchronous point of the time code signal demodulated by the receiver through identifying a driving noise mixed in the time code signal by action of the driving unit.

Analog type electronic timepiece

An electronic device comprising a solar cell, a secondary battery charged by an output from the solar cell, an illumination detector for detecting the brightness of the environment of the solar cell based on the output from the solar cell, a display unit, an electroluminescence (EL) element for illumining the display unit, an attitude detector for detecting an attitude of the electronic device, a driver for driving the EL element on the basis of the attitude of the electronic device detected by the attitude detector and the result of the detection by the illumination detector. Only when the illumination detector detects that the environment of the solar cell is dark, and the attitude detector detects that the electronic device takes a specified attitude, the EL element is turned on. Otherwise, the illuminator is not turned on. Thus, wasteful power consumption is suppressed to prolong the solar cell's service life.
