Provided is an incurvated-nails and ingrown-nails correcting device that uses a magnetic force and that is capable of adjusting the space between a magnet and a magnetic sheet that is placed on a nail. The subject device includes a magnetic sheet that is placed on a nail; the device's main part that includes a body that is attached to the magnetic sheet by using an adhesive agent or by using the magnetic force of the magnet, an arm that extends outward from the body, a head that is arranged at the edge of the arm, and a joint by which the arm is rotatably connected to the body and by which the head is rotatably connected to the arm; and a magnet mounted on the head.

Images taken by a plurality of cameras mounted on a vehicle are combined and an image of the surrounding area is developed, in a plane, around a vehicle display portion. The vehicle display portion shows an illustration border line indicative of the outer shape of the vehicle. The outline of the vehicle indicated by the illustration border line is drawn slightly larger than the outer shape of the actual image of the vehicle. This allows margin areas to be formed between the vehicle and its surroundings, thus reducing the possibility of a collision with an obstacle during driving.

On-vehicle image pickup apparatus

Images captured by multiple cameras installed on a vehicle are combined, and an image of the ground is projected onto a plane and is displayed around a vehicle display portion. In the vehicle display portion, actual images of portions of the vehicle may be displayed in a front area, a rear area, a left-side area, and/or a right-side area. A vehicle illustration image is displayed in the area surrounded by the actual images of the portions of the vehicle. Since the vehicle actual images are displayed at the perimeter of the vehicle display portion, it is easy for an operator who views a display screen to recognize the positional relationships between the perimeter of the vehicle and obstacles outside the vehicle perimeter.

A valve drive device which can prevent a locknut fixing a stem nut to a drive sleeve from getting loosened. The valve drive device comprises: the stem nut for screwing a valve stem thereinto; the drive sleeve engaging with a male spline formed on a peripheral outer surface of said stem nut, said drive sleeve including a worm gear on a peripheral outer surface thereof; a worm in meshing engagement with said worm gear; and a housing that supports said drive sleeve by bearings. The valve drive device further comprises: a stem nut fastening member having a first male screw that engages with a female screw provided on a peripheral inner surface of said drive sleeve; and a locknut that engages with a second male screw provided on a reduced diameter portion of said stem nut fastening member, said second male screw having a reverse screw thread relative to said first male screw, so that no slack may arise between said stem nut fastening member and said drive sleeve.

Valve drive device

A sign of abnormality of a valve apparatus during its operation is grasped, an abnormal position and a portion requiring repair are specified, a range of inspection of an electric valve is limited and the degree of the sign of abnormality is judged without touching at all the valve apparatus. A driving force sensor provided to a driving portion of a valve apparatus is connected to a diagnosing apparatus, an energy sensor for detecting feed energy to the driving portion and a vibration sensor for detecting vibration of the valve apparatus are provisionally fitted to the valve apparatus. A data conversion unit converts the detection signals outputted from these three kinds of sensors to predetermined signals. An analytical diagnosing processing of diagnostic data information for each diagnostic item is conducted by referring to an allowance value of each diagnostic item and to a maintenance record inclusive of the diagnostic result to judge whether the valve apparatus is normal or abnormal to further conduct degradation estimation.

Method and apparatus for diagnosing abnormality and estimating degradation in valve apparatus

A biocompatible composite material comprising a substrate having a glass-hydroxyapatite ceramic layer disposed thereon, and optionally having an intermediate glass layer between the substrate and the layer. The glass-hydroxyapatite ceramic layer comprises a continuous glass phase having a hydroxyapatite ceramic dispersed therein, said hydroxyapatite ceramic having a calcium/phosphorous molar ratio of 1.50 to 1.75, wherein said hydroxyapatite ceramic is comprised mainly of hydroxyapatite. The surface portion of the layer is in a roughened state having voids and having the hydroxyapatite ceramic exposed. The composite material may be produced by a method comprising applying a blend of a powdery glass with a hydroxyapatite ceramic to the surface of a substrate with or without a glass layer disposed thereon, firing the resulting coated substrate and subjecting the fired coated substrate to an etching action with an acid. The composite material is useful as a bone substitute material for the reconsutrction of bone defects.

Biocompatible composite material and a method for producing the same

A novel digitized measuring system is disclosed for the measurement of the DC parameters of a wide variety of electrical and electronic devices. A stimulus measuring unit (SMU) is disclosed which can alternatively act as a voltage source and current monitor or as a current source and voltage monitor. A device under test (DUT) can be characterized without changing external connections and the resulting data can be manipulated and displayed in a wide variety of graphical or tabular forms.

Stimulus/measuring unit for DC characteristics measuring

A method for making a base material for a snack food wherein 100 parts of a bean-cured refuse are mixed with 120 to 180 parts of wheat flour, 30 to 70 parts starch, and 12 to 28 parts water. The mixture is steamed and boiled into a rice-cake state after which the mixture is formed into a sheet, cooled, and matured. The mixture is then dried to produce a base material having a water content of 13 to 20% by weight. This base material can then be suitably processed to form a nutrition snack food.
