In a dry cleaner, after clothes 2 is washed, the washing solvent contained in the washed clothes 2 is dissolved into a liquid perfluorocarbon 4a being heated at its boiling point or thereabout in order to remove the washing solvent. Thereafter, drying of the clothes 2 is performed by mainly aiming to evaporate the liquid perfluorocarbon 4a contained in the clothes 2. Since the drying is targeted on the liquid perfluorocarbon, the time required for drying clothes can markedly reduced.

A washing method by a continuous washing machine including a drum having a charge port of a wash at one end and a discharge port thereof at the other end, partitions for dividing the drum into a plurality of chambers, and a scoop for scooping up the wash with the rotation of the drum and sequentially transferring it from a chamber on the side of charge port to a chamber on the side of discharge port, in which the normal rotation of the drum without transfer in the transfer direction and the reverse rotation without transfer are repeated several times to oscillate the wash several times, and then by the reverse rotation of the drum of one complete turn or more, the raising/dropping motion of the wash is performed by the scoop at least once, whereby washing is carried out by the combination of several oscillating motions and at least one raising/dropping motion.

A scoop-up portion of scoop means is of a flat plate shape so that water is drained by letting a wash rest on the scoop portion during the transferring operation. The wash is scooped surely in raise/drop washing so that the wash is not caught between the inner peripheral surface and one edge of the scoop-up portion. Also, an auxiliary plate is installed on the back surface of transfer portion of the scoop means to prevent the wash from dropping into the preceding vessel in raise/drop washing. Thus, the crumple washing and beat washing are performed efficiently, and cleanliness is improved.

The present invention is directed to a technique which comprises the steps of stopping the rotation of a treating drum in a deodorizing step, introducing the outside air into a treating tank through an upper opening provided in the upper portion of the treating tank or the upper portion of a recovery air duct, simultaneously exhausting a solvent gas from the treating tank through a lower opening provided in the lower portion of the treating tank or a button trap portion so slowly as not to agitate the solvent gas in the treating tank by an exhaust means connected to a solvent recovery device in the condition that the treating drum is stopped, in order to replace the solvent gas in the treating tank with the outside air, and reusing the solvent gas through the solvent recovery device once or several times. In addition, the present invention is further directed to an improvement of the above-mentioned technique. According to the above-mentioned technique of the present invention, a gas throughput which is required to recover a certain amount of the solvent in the treating tank can be noticeably miniaturized and hence it can be manufactured at a lower cost, as compared with conventional ones, and air pollution and the breakage of ozone layer can be prevented. Moreover, the solvent can be saved owing to its recovery and reuse, and occupation space for the solvent recovery device can be also saved.

There are disclosed a dry cleaning method and apparatus using organic solvents in which two types of solvents melted to each other, one of which is a solvent (for example, perchloroethylene or 1.1.1 trichloroethane) having large washing power and the other of which is a solvent (for example, fleon R113 or terpene) having high safety for clothes can be simultaneously possessed and mixed to a predetermined mixture ratio in the range in which the respective characteristics of both the solvents do not interfere with each other by a fractionating device of the solvents, whereby almost all materials for clothes can be cleaned. With the structure, a single dry cleaner can clean almost all material for clothes and can increase the generality greatly as compared with the prior art cleaner.

Dry cleaning method and apparatus

The present invention relates to a dry cleaning method in which tanks for exclusively receiving at least two kinds of solvents which are soluble in each other are provided. One treating tank and a fractionating device for recovering the two or more kinds of solvents by fractonal distillation are provided. Exclusive filters for the respective solvents are provided through the use of, a common filter or a multi-filter device composed of both the filters which is disposed between the tanks and the treating tank. The two or more kinds of solvents are used independently so that washing is carried out. Further, the present disclosure relates to a dry cleaning method in which in a dry cleaner using organic solvents such as perchloroethylene, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, turpentine (oil series) and the like, the previously use solvent is replaced with another solvent which is soluble therein and has a lower boiling point, for exmple, Flon 113 or 11, during washing or immediately before drying in order to thereby shorten a drying period of time. According to this disclosure, the most proper washing method can be chosen for the greater part of materials, processings and forms of clothes, and troubles due to the wasing of the clothes can be reduced remarkably. Further, the disclosed apparatus and method can advantageously save occupation space, equipment cost, volume of facilities, maintenace cost and the like. In addition thereto, a drying time can be reduced by half.

Dry cleaning method using at least two kinds of solvents

A dry cleaning apparatus includes one processing tank, tanks capable of exclusively containing two or more types of solvents, respectively, capable of melting to be mixed with each other, a fractionating device for fractionating the two or more types of solvents and filters for respective solvents. A controller for the dry cleaning apparatus includes a central processor unit formed of an electronic circuit which is a center of control and washing programs for washing with a single solvent and combined solvents, the program being stored in the central processor unit. Accordingly, an optimum washing method can be selected in accordance with material, processing and form of clothes.
