The present disclosure relates to a secondary battery module including a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery and an elastic body. The elastic body has a compressive elastic modulus of 5 MPa to 120 MPa. The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode collector containing Ti as a main component and having a thickness of 1 &#x3bc;m to 8 &#x3bc;m. The negative electrode includes a first layer and a second layer sequentially formed from a side with the negative electrode collector. The first layer contains negative electrode active material particles containing first carbon-based active material particles with a 10% proof stress of 3 MPa or less. The second layer contains negative electrode active material particles containing second carbon-based active material particles with a 10% proof stress of 5 MPa or greater.

Nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery and secondary battery module

The present disclosure relates to a secondary battery module including a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery and an elastic body. The elastic body has a compressive elastic modulus of 5 MPa to 120 MPa. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode collector with a thermal conductive rate of 65 W/(m&#xb7;K) to 150 W/(m&#xb7;K). The negative electrode includes a negative electrode active material layer including a first layer and a second layer sequentially formed from a side with the negative electrode collector. The first layer contains first carbon-based active material particles with a 10% proof stress of 3 MPa or less. The second layer contains second carbon-based active material particles with a 10% proof stress of 5 MPa or greater.

A nonaqueous battery includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode. At least one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode includes a current collector, an intermediate layer, and an active material layer. The intermediate layer is interposed between the current collector and the active material layer and includes graphite particles and insulating particles. In a cross section of the intermediate layer in a thickness direction, a major axis diameter of the graphite particles is equal to or greater than the thickness of the intermediate layer. In X-ray diffraction measurement of the intermediate layer by an out-of-plane method, a ratio of an intensity of an 110 diffraction line of a graphite crystal to an intensity of a 002 diffraction line of the graphite crystal is 0.0011 or more.

A positive electrode includes at least a positive electrode current collector, a conductive material, and a positive electrode active material. The positive electrode active material is disposed on a surface of the positive electrode current collector. The positive electrode current collector includes an aluminum foil and an aluminum oxide hydrate film. The aluminum oxide hydrate film covers a surface of the aluminum foil. The aluminum oxide hydrate film has a thickness not smaller than 10 nm and not greater than 500 nm. The aluminum oxide hydrate film has a porosity not lower than 10% and not higher than 50%. At least part of the conductive material is disposed within pores in the aluminum oxide hydrate film.

A nonaqueous battery includes a current collector that supports an electrode active material. The current collector includes a first layer, a second layer and a third layer. The second layer is interposed between the first layer and the third layer. The second layer includes 0.3 mass % or more and 1 mass % or less of magnesium and 0.2 mass % or more and 0.9 mass % or less of silicon, with a remainder being made up of aluminum. The first layer and the third layer constitute outer surfaces of the current collector. The first layer and the third layer each include 99.3 mass % or more of aluminum. In both of the first layer and the third layer, there is less than 0.3 mass % of magnesium and less than 0.2 mass % of silicon.

A positive electrode plate includes a positive electrode composite material layer. The positive electrode composite material layer contains at least a positive electrode active material and a flame retardant. The flame retardant contains phosphorus (P) or sulfur (S). The flame retardant has a thermal decomposition temperature not lower than 80&#xb0; C. and not higher than 210&#xb0; C. A value calculated by dividing a porosity (%) of the positive electrode composite material layer by an amount (mass %) of P and S contained in the positive electrode composite material layer is not smaller than 5 and not greater than 5000.

A method of manufacturing a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes: a step of forming a first electrode mixture layer containing an electrode active material and a first binder; a step of forming granulated particles containing the electrode active material and a second binder; a step of forming a second electrode mixture layer, which is formed of the granulated particles, on the first electrode mixture layer; a step of forming a heat resistance layer, which contains an inorganic filler and a third binder, on a surface of a separator; a step of preparing an electrode body by laminating the electrode and the separator such that the second electrode mixture layer and the heat resistance layer are in contact with each other; and a step of heating the electrode body.
