A printer comprises: an inkjet head including nozzles for discharging ink; a holding member which holds a print medium; a moving mechanism which moves the holding member and/or the inkjet head so as to move the inkjet head relative to the holding member in a main scanning direction and a sub scanning direction for printing by the inkjet head on the print medium; and a print control unit which controls the inkjet head and the moving mechanism so as to execute flushing printing on the print medium for preventing clogging of the nozzles while moving the inkjet head relative to the holding member in a first printing direction in the main scanning direction and to execute pattern printing on the print medium according to pattern printing data while moving the inkjet head relative to the holding member in a second printing direction in the main scanning direction.

A cloth holding frame is removably set on a frame driving mechanism in a printer including a print head. The cloth holding frame holding the cloth to be printed is detachably provided with the ink tray to receive a jet of ink from the print head by a flushing, and is moved to a flushing position based on a moving distance and, in association therewith, a type of the cloth holding frame set in the printer. Accordingly, the maintenance time for the flushing becomes shorter. The speed of the printing process is enhanced. The controlling operation of the frame driving mechanism to perform the flushing becomes simplified, and the printer can be downsized.

There is provided a data processing device, which includes a data providing unit that provides print data and embroidery data to be subjected to printing and embroidering, respectively. A print region of the print data and an embroidery region of the embroidery data have a predetermined positional relationship. The data processing device further includes a data correction unit that corrects at least one of the embroidery data and the print data so that the predetermined positional relationship between the embroidery region defined in the embroidery data and the print region defined in the print data is maintained on fabric after the embroidering in accordance with the embroidery data and the printing in accordance with the print data are performed on the fabric, considering shrinkage of the fabric caused by the embroidering in accordance with the embroidery data.

There is provided a embroidery data processing device, which includes an extracting system that extracts at least one embroidery region from embroidery data that has a stitch attribute corresponding to at least one predetermined setting, and a print data generating system that generates print data for the at least one embroidery region extracted by the extracting system based on the embroidery data of the at least one embroidery region extracted by the extracting system.
