A short-type disposable diaper including a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorber interposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, front and rear waist portions being connected together at opposite sides thereof, respectively, the improvement including a tape fastener adapted to fasten the diaper when the diaper is to be discarded, the tape fastener being disposed at a central outer surface section of the backsheet and extending in a longitudinal direction of the backsheet.

A shorts type disposable diaper includes a body having a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorbent member interposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The body includes a stomach-side portion which is located on the stomach side of a diaper wearer when the diaper is worn, a back-side portion which is located on the back side of the wearer when the diaper is worn, and a crotch portion which is located between the stomach-side portion and the back-side portion. The body has a pair of first expansible side panels, each of the first expansible side panels being affixed to each longitudinal side of the stomach-side portion and a pair of second expansible side panels, each of the second expansible side panels being affixed to each longitudinal side of the back-side portion. The first expansible side panels of the stomach-side portion are affixed to the second expansible side panels of said back-side portion to thereby define a waist opening portion, a pair of leg opening portions and a body-surrounding portion located around the wearer's body when the diaper is worn. Elastic members are arranged on an area adjacent to the waist opening portion and on the body-surrounding portion in the stomach-side and back-side portions. A substantially continuous gather is formed along an entire periphery of the diaper through the stomach-side portion, the back-side portion and the first and second expansible panels.

A disposable diaper including a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorbent member interposed therebetween, the disposable diaper being provided with a front waist body portion which is located on the stomach side of a diaper wearer when the wearer puts on the diaper and a rear waist body portion which is located on the back side of the wearer, the rear waist body portion being provided with tape tabs connected at opposite lateral sides thereof, respectively, each of the tape tabs being provided with a projection member or a recess member of a mechanical fastener, the front waist body portion being provided with a counterpart portion on the backsheet side for allowing the projection member or the recess member to be engaged with or be retained by the counterpart portion; each of the tape tabs including an adhesive portion which is formed by applying an adhesive agent thereto; the adhesive portion being provided on the surface side of the tape tab opposite to where the projection member or the recess member of the mechanical fastener is provided; and said tape tabs being configured in such a manner that, when the disposable diaper is formed into a shape for disposal where the diaper is rolled up with the backsheet side facing outwardly, the tape tabs maintain the disposal shape of the diaper by means of at least the adhesive portions attached to the liquid permeable backsheet.

A shorts type disposable diaper includes an absorptive body having a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorber interposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorptive body is divided into a stomach side portion, an under-crotch portion, and a back side portion, substantially continuous elastically expansible members being disposed over entire peripheral edge portions of a waist opening and a pair of leg openings which are formed by fixedly connecting confronting opposite side portions between the stomach side portion and the back side portion. The absorber is 8 mm or less in thickness and 100 mm or more in width in the under-crotch portion, and the distance from a side edge of the under-crotch portion of the absorber to the elastically expansible members disposed in the leg opening is 15 mm or more.

Shorts type disposable diaper

A shorts type disposable diaper comprising an absorbent body which comprises a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorbent member interposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, the absorbent body having a front waist body portion located on the stomach side of a diaper wearer when the diaper is worn and a rear waist body portion located on the back side of the wearer, the front and rear waist body portions being joined and sealed together at opposing lateral side edges thereof to form a waist opening portion and a pair of leg opening portions, characterized in that the topsheet and/or the backsheet have a mechanical strength of about 1,500 gf/50 mm or more in the longitudinal direction of the diaper.

An extensible fastening tape includes a base part, adapted to be attached to a disposable absorbent article, and an extensible part attached to the base part, the extensible part being extendable under load of containing the disposable absorbent article.

An absorbent article such as a disposable diaper, effective to prevent liquid from leaking, comprises a liquid-impermeable back sheet, a liquid-permeable top sheet, an absorbent provided between the back sheet and the top sheet and a liquid-permeable surface sheet fixed on the top sheet at both ends of the surface sheet at the longitudinal direction of the article, but not fixed thereto at the intermediate part.

A disposable diaper having a liquid pervious top-sheet, a liquid impervious and vapor pervious backsheet and an absorbent core interposed between the topsheet and the backsheet comprising interposing liquid impervious and vapor pervious barrier sheets between the topsheet and the backsheet, said barrier sheets being extended from the front edge and the rear edge of the diaper to the inwards of the front edge and the rear edge of the absorbent core respectively, to thereby form waist barrier parts covering the front edge and the rear edge of the absorbent core, and the barrier sheets being so formed that the intensity in the lateral direction of the diaper is higher than the intensity in the longitudinal direction of the diaper.
