Provided is a method for manufacturing a methacrylic resin composition having excellent surface processability and displaying excellent preservability of formed surface processing. A method for manufacturing a methacrylic resin composition, wherein the methacrylic resin composition comprises two or more types of methacrylic resins that each have a structural unit (X) having the same type of cyclic structure-containing main chain, the methacrylic resin composition has a Vicat softening temperature of 120&#xb0; C. to 160&#xb0; C., methanol-soluble content is contained in an amount of 5 mass % or less relative to 100 mass %, in total, of the methanol-soluble content and methanol-insoluble content, comprising mixing a low molecular weight component and a high molecular weight component.

Method for manufacturing methacrylic resin composition

Methacrylic resin having high heat resistance, highly controlled birefringence, excellent color tone and transparency, and excellent moldability is provided. A methacrylic resin comprises a structural unit (B) having a cyclic structure-containing main chain, the structural unit (B) including at least one structural unit selected from the group consisting of an N-substituted maleimide-based structural unit (B-1) and a lactone ring structural unit (B-2), wherein a glass transition temperature is more than 120&#xb0; C. and 160&#xb0; C. or less, an amount of a methanol-soluble content is 5 mass % or less relative to 100 mass % of a total amount of the methanol-soluble content and a methanol-insoluble content in the methacrylic resin, and an yellowness index YI measured using a 10 cm optical path length cell for a 20 w/v % chloroform solution of the methanol-insoluble content is 0 to 7.

Methacrylic resin

A methacrylic resin composition having high heat resistance, excellent birefringence, and excellent heat stability and molding processability is provided. A methacrylic resin composition comprises: a methacrylic resin including a structural unit (X) having a cyclic structure-containing main chain, the structural unit (X) being at least one type selected from the group consisting of an N-substituted maleimide monomer-derived structural unit, a glutarimide-based structural unit, and a lactone ring structural unit; and an organic phosphorous compound, wherein a glass transition temperature is more than 120&#xb0; C. and 160&#xb0; C. or less, a content of a phosphorus element is 10 mass ppm to 1000 mass ppm, and a ratio P3/P5 of an integral value P3 of a spectral peak assigned to trivalent phosphorus to an integral value P5 of a spectral peak assigned to pentavalent phosphorus inP-NMR measurement is 0.2 to 5.0.

A method for producing high purity glycolic acid crystals, which comprises the steps of: (1) providing an aqueous glycolic acid solution (A) which has (a) a water content of from 5 to 20% by weight, (b) a calculated monomeric glycolic acid weight ratio (ratio of the total weight of the monomeric glycolic acid and the component monomeric glycolic acid of the glycolic acid condensation product to the weight of the aqueous glycolic acid solution (A)) of from 0.60 to 1.00 and (c) a monomeric glycolic acid content of from 20 to 57% by weight; (2) depositing glycolic acid crystals from the solution (A); and (3) separating the deposited glycolic acid crystals from the solution (A).

Process for production of high-purity crystals of glycolic acid

Electrophotographic transfer paper comprising base paper having provided on at least one side thereof a coating layer mainly comprising a pigment and a binder at a solids content of 2 to 12 g/m , which has an Oken's smoothness of 60 to 300 seconds on each side thereof, an air permeability of 10 to 90 seconds, and a coefficient of paper-to-paper friction of 0.5 to 0.9 at 28&deg; C. and 85% RH. The transfer paper has excellent running properties on a digital full-color copying machine or printer of indirect dry electrophotographic system irrespective of the environment of use, especially in a high humidity environment, while proving a satisfactory image.

Electrophotographic transfer paper

A double-side and full color transfer paper for electrophotography having a paper layer divided into a felt side and a wire side, wherein the difference between the orientation of fiber in the felt side and that in the wire side of the paper layer is 0.1 to &minus;0.1, and both of residual curvature of the transfer paper in a MD (in a movement direction of a paper machine) and that in a CD (in a direction perpendicular to the MD) are included in a range from 7 to &minus;7 m,and the expansion ratio of the transfer paper in the CD is 0.55 or lower, if necessary.

Double-side and full color transfer paper for electrophotography

A polyamide resin composition comprising: from 30 to 70% by weight of a polyamide resin having a crystallization temperature not higher than 210&deg; C.; and from 70 to 30% by weight of glass fiber having an average aspect ratio of from 10 to 20, and an average fiber diameter of from 15 to 30 &mgr;m. Also disclosed is a polyamide resin molded article comprising: from 30 to 70% by weight of a polyamide resin having a crystallization temperature not higher than 210&deg; C.; and from 70 to 30% by weight of glass fiber having an average aspect ratio of from 9 to 18, and an average fiber diameter of from 15 to 30 &mgr;m.

Polyamide resin composition and molded articles

Electrophotographic transfer paper having a coating layer provided on at least one surface of base paper and pigments and adhesive agents as main components, wherein resistivity (VR) and surface resistivity (SV) of electrophotographic transfer paper after the humidity has adjusted to 10.degree. C., 30% RH for 12 hours satisfy the expression Log(VR/SR).ltoreq.1.5. Using such electrophotographic transfer paper, occurrence of discharge mark and occurrence of density irregularity in a high-density image region are prevented to thereby make it possible to provide electrophotographic transfer paper excellent in fixing characteristic, nonshowthrough, partial deletion and generation of paper dust.

Electrophotographic transfer paper and color image forming method

Transfer paper for electrophotography of the present invention includes base paper; and a coating layer provided on at least one side of the base paper. The coating layer includes a pigment and a binder, has a solids content in the range of 2 to 10 g/m.sup.2, and has void-free areas containing no voids having a circle-equivalent diameter of equal to or more than 1 .mu.m and void area containing voids whose circle-equivalent diameter is equal to or more than 1 .mu.m. A proportion of void areas whose equivalent circle diameter is more than 20 .mu.m is not more than 2%, and the average equivalent circle diameter of the void areas and that of the void-free areas as observed on the surface of the coating layer satisfy at least one of the following conditions: (1) the average equivalent circle diameter of the void areas and that of the void-free areas are each from 1.5 to 10 .mu.m; (2) the average equivalent circle diameter of the void areas and that of the void-free areas are each 0.2 to 1.5 times the volume average particle size of the toner used for image formation; and (3) the average equivalent circle diameter of the void areas is from 1.0 to 10.0 .mu.m and that of the void-free area is from 1.5 to 10 .mu.m.

Transfer paper for electrophotography and process for producing the same

Electrophotographic transfer paper of the present invention satisfies at least one of expression of L.sub.MD /H.sub.MD .gtoreq.60 and L.sub.CD /H.sub.CD .gtoreq.35, where MD represents a paper direction parallel to the movement direction of a paper machine, L.sub.MD (cm) represents stiffness in MD, CD represents a paper direction perpendicular to the movement direction of the paper machine, and H.sub.CD (%) represents expansivity in CD.
