A vehicle includes a battery for traveling; an air conditioner that includes a defroster mode and that is configured to air-condition a vehicle cabin using a refrigeration cycle; a battery cooler configured to cool the battery with a coolant that is cooled by heat exchange with a refrigerant flowing through the air conditioner; and a control unit configured to control the air conditioner and the battery cooler. In a case where a temperature of the battery is higher than a reference temperature, the control unit operates the battery cooler and controls the air conditioner such that the air conditioner operates in the defroster mode when the vehicle is moving, and the control unit operates the battery cooler and stops the air conditioner when the vehicle is stopped.

A thermal management system includes a first cooler that cools a first heat source, a first circulation path that connects the first cooler and a first pump, a second cooler that cools a second heat source, a second circulation path that connects the second cooler and a second pump, a changeover valve, and a controller. The changeover valve is switchable between first and second valve positions. The first and second circulation paths are separated from each other when the changeover valve is in the first valve position. The controller causes both the first and second pumps to operate when the temperature difference between refrigerants in the first and second circulation paths is more than a predetermined temperature difference threshold when the changeover valve is set to the first valve position and one of the first and second pumps is operating and the other is not operating.

Vehicular thermal management system and corresponding method of controlling the thermal management system

A battery unit disclosed herein includes a cell stack, bus bars, a cooler, and a heat transfer member. The cell stack includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The cooler includes a cooling surface that faces the second surface of the cell stack to cool the cell stack. The heat transfer member is arranged between the second surface of the cell stack and the cooling surface of the cooler to transfer heat of the cell stack to the cooler. The cooling surface of the cooler has a flat shape. The heat transfer member includes a plurality of bands extending along a stacking direction. The bands are located away from each other. At least one of the bands at least partially overlaps each of electrodes of a plurality of battery cells when viewed in a direction orthogonal to the cooling surface.

A power storage device includes at least one power storage cell, a heater that increases a temperature of the power storage cell, a pressing member that presses the heater against the power storage cell, and a sensor provided in the heater. The heater includes a base material and a heater wire provided on the base material. The base material includes a lead portion drawn from between the pressing member and the power storage cell. The heater wire includes a heater lead wire formed on the lead portion. The sensor is provided on the heater lead wire.

A power storage device includes: a power storage stack which includes a plurality of power storage cells; a heating member that heats the power storage stack; a cooling member that cools the power storage stack; a first pressing member that presses the heating member against the power storage stack; a second pressing member that presses the cooling member against the power storage stack; and a sheet member covering the bottom of the power storage stack so that an enclosed space is formed between the sheet member and the power storage stack in a cross section of the power storage stack, wherein the sheet member has a first surface and a second surface, the cooling member is disposed on the first surface, within the enclosed space, and the heating member is disposed on the second surface, on an outer side of the enclosed space.
