An electrical apparatus includes: a substrate on which circuit components of a power converter are mounted, and to which a power supply voltage is applied from an alternating-current power supply; a housing accommodating the substrate; a current detector; and a controller. The current detector detects a physical quantity correlated with a common mode current, the common mode current flowing to circulate through at least two of the alternating-current power supply, the substrate, and the housing by power generated by the power converter. The controller senses whether an electrical wire that is a ground wire is connected or not, on the basis of a value detected by the current detector.

A power conversion device includes a rectification unit that rectifies first alternating current (AC) power supplied from a commercial power supply, a capacitor connected to an output end of the rectification unit, an inverter that converts power output from the rectification unit and from the capacitor into second AC power, and outputs the second AC power to a load including a motor, which inverter is connected to both ends of the capacitor, and a control unit that controls operation of the inverter to output the second AC power from the inverter to the load to reduce current flowing to the capacitor, which second AC power includes a pulsation that depends on a pulsation of power flowing from the rectification unit to the capacitor. No discharge circuit and no overvoltage protection circuit are provided for the capacitor.

Power conversion device, motor drive unit, and refrigeration cycle apparatus

A power converter includes a converter, a smoothing capacitor, an inverter, and a single calculator. The converter includes a switching element and rectifies a power supply voltage applied from an alternating-current power supply. The smoothing capacitor smooths a rectified voltage output from the converter into a direct-current voltage including a ripple. The inverter converts the direct-current voltage smoothed by the smoothing capacitor into an alternating-current voltage for a motor. The calculator performs control such that a first physical quantity representing an operation state of the converter is equal to a second physical quantity representing an operation state of the inverter.

Power converter, motor driver, and refrigeration cycle applied equipment

A motor drive device includes a single-phase inverter that converts a direct-current voltage into an alternating-current voltage applied to a motor. The motor drive device includes a control power supply outputting power having a voltage lower than the direct-current voltage. The motor drive device includes a drive signal generation unit driven by the power. The drive signal generation unit generates drive signals driving switching elements of the inverter. The motor drive device includes a power supply switch operating so as to allow supply of the power from the control power supply to the drive signal generation unit when a rotation speed of the motor is higher than a threshold. The power supply switch operates so as to stop the supply of the power from the control power supply to the drive signal generation unit when the rotation speed is lower than the threshold.

An electric blower includes a fan, a motor to drive the fan, a first board including at least one switching element, and a second board including a microcomputer. The motor, first board, and second board are arranged in this order in a blowing direction of the fan.

A motor drive device includes a single-phase inverter converting a direct-current voltage output from a power supply that is a direct-current power supply into an alternating-current voltage having a high level, low level, or zero level potential. The inverter outputs the alternating-current voltage as a motor applied voltage to be applied to a motor. The alternating-current voltage is a voltage that has a high level, low level, or zero level potential. When a rotation speed of the motor is to be reduced, a section in which a potential of the motor applied voltage is zero level is widened.

A motor driving apparatus for driving a single-phase motor includes an inverter disposed between a battery and the single-phase motor, the inverter applying a first voltage to the single-phase motor at startup and applying a second voltage to the single-phase motor during a normal operation. A stop time period is present after application of the first voltage, application of the first voltage being stopped during the stop time period, and the inverter applies the second voltage after a lapse of the stop time period.

Motor driving apparatus, electric blower, vacuum cleaner, and hand dryer

A motor drive device includes a single-phase inverter that converts a direct-current voltage output from a power supply which is a battery, into an alternating-current voltage. The inverter outputs the alternating-current voltage as an applied voltage to be applied to a motor. The applied voltage is lower when the direct-current voltage is a second voltage lower than a first voltage than when the direct-current voltage is the first voltage. Consequently, a discharge current of the battery is reduced, and the motor drive device capable of reducing an increase in battery temperature can be obtained.
