The adhesive ethylene copolymer composition of the invention comprises a specific long-chain branched ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer (or this copolymer and its graft-modified product) and a tackifier (or a specific ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer), and has specific density, MFR, crystallinity and graft quantity. The composition containing the tackifier can form a layer having good adhesive force to polystyrene resins, ABS resin, polyacrylonitrile resins and ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer saponified resins even in an atmosphere of high temperatures. The composition containing the ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer can form a layer having good adhesive force to polyester resins, polycarbonate resins, polyvinylidene chloride resins and ethylene/vinyl acetate saponified resins even in an atmosphere of high temperatures. The other adhesive ethylene copolymer composition of the invention comprises a blend of a graft-modified linear ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer and an olefin elastomer. This composition has excellent heat stability, moldability and transparency, and can form a film layer having good adhesive force to metals and materials of high polarity.

Adhesive ethylene copolymer resin compositions and laminates using the same

Disclosed is a specific adhesive polyethylene composition comprising &lsqb;1&rsqb; a modified ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer resin or elastomer obtained by modifying a specific ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer resin or elastomer, each of which comprises ethylene and an &agr;-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms, with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or anhydride, ester, amide, imide or metallic salt derivative of a unsaturated carboxylic acid thereof, &lsqb;2&rsqb; an unmodified ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer resin and/or an unmodified ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer elastomer and &lsqb;3&rsqb; a tackifier. Also disclosed is a multi-layer laminated film of 3 or more layers in which a layer of the above composition is interposed between an ethylene polymer layer and either a polyamide resin layer, an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer layer or a layer of a mixture of polyamide resin and ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer. The adhesive polyethylene composition shows excellent adhesion strength to ethylene polymers, polyamide resins and ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymers, high heat-sealing strength and heat resistance. The multi-layer laminated film shows excellent strength, heat resistance and gas barrier properties, and besides this film has heat shrinkability, so that the film is suitably used as a shrink film.

Adhesive polyethylene compositions and multi-layer laminated films using the same

An adhesive ethylene copolymer resin composition blend of a modified ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer obtained by graft-modifying an unmodified linear ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer comprising ethylene and an a-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative, or the unmodified ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer and the modified ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer and an olefin elastomer (F) The linear ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer being prepared by the use of an olefin polymerization catalyst including a Group IV transition metal compound (a) containing a ligand having cyclopentadienyl skeleton and an organoaluminum oxy-compound (b). The adhesive ethylene copolymer resin composition can be used as a layer to form a laminate with a layer of a polar material or a layer of a metal. The polar material layer can be a layer of an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer, a layer of a polyamide or a layer of a polyester.

A multilayer laminate film comprising (A) a first layer comprising a propylene polymer and oriented in at least one direction, (B) a second layer comprising a propylene copolymer having a melting point lower than the melting point of the propylene polymer of the first layer, (C) a third layer comprising a polymer composition comprising a graft modified olefin polymer in which an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof is grafted, and (D) a fourth layer comprising an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer, these four layers being laminated in the above order. The above multilayer laminate exhibits excellent interlaminar adhesion and has excellent heat resistance.

Disclosed are (1) an adhesive polypropylene resin composition comprising (a) 50 to 90 parts by weight of a modified polypropylene or a composition containing said modified polypropylene, said modified polypropylene being graft-modified with at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of an unsaturated carboxylic acid from the group consisting of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and a derivative thereof and (b) 10 to 50 parts by weight of a modified polyolefin other than the modified polypropylene or the composition (a), said modified polyolefin being grafted with at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and a derivative thereof, and (2) a multi layer laminate body comprising (i) a layer of a polyolefin (ii) a layer of the above-said adhesive polypropylene resin composition and (iii) a layer of a polyamide resin and/or an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer, said layers being laminated in the order of (i), (ii) and (iii). The composition of (1) has an excellent adhesion capability for a polyolefin resin layer such as polypropylene layer and also a layer of polyamide resin and/or an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer resin layers.

A poly(1-butene) resin composition having and exhibiting excellent mechanical strength, rigidity, creep resistance and chloride water resistance is disclosed. The poly(1-butene) resin composition is particularly suitable as a material for joints pV in hot water pipes. The poly(l -butene) resin composition comprises of from about 60 to 95 weight parts of a poly(l-butene) resins (A), from about 5 to 40 weight parts of glass fiber (B) and a modified propylenic resin (C) present in an amount of from about 0.1 to 10 weight parts based on the combined weight parts of (A) and (B).

Modified poly(1-butene)resins composition

A polybutene resin laminate comprising an intermediate layer (a) mainly comprising a butene-propylene copolymer (A) containing 15 to 40% by mole of propylene, said copolymer (A) having a melt flow rate in the range of from 0.1 to 30 g/10 min.; and an upper surface layer (b1) and a lower surface layer (b2) disposed on both sides of said intermediate layer (a), said surface layers mainly comprising a polyolefin resin (B). The laminate has excellent transparency, stretchability, flexibility, smoothness, heat sealability and self-adhesion, and may be stretched without undergoing generation of wrinkles and decrease in transparency and fastening properties.

Polybutene resin laminate

The composition of this invention is a poly(1-butene) resin composition which has characteristics such as excellent rigidity, creep characteristic and impact resistance, which a poly(1-butene) resin inherently possess, and is excellent in moldability, particularly moldability in high molding speed, so-called high speed moldability. This composition is particularly useful in the manufacture of hot water pipes.
