Disclosed is a SCARA robot having a robot body, a mount movable vertically of the robot body, a first arm having one end operatively connected to the mount such that the first arm may turningly move in a horizontal plane, a second arm having one end operatively connected to the opposite end of the first arm such that the second arm may turningly move in a horizontal plane, and an R shaft rotatably mounted on the free end of the second arm, wherein stepping motors,and,are provided to move the first and second arms, the R-shaft and the mount respectively, and encoders are provided to count the stepping pulses of the stepping motors. The counted pulses are feedbacked to CPU,so that the CPU,may correct errors when the errors are detected between the counted number of pulses and a required number of pulses. When the errors are detected, the stepping motors may be stopped and the errors may be indicated.

An embroidery stitch data producing device is disclosed, which is superior in its operating efficiency and is effectively operated to produce the stitch data for forming the stitches of an image to be embroidered, wherein the device is adapted to designate the parts of the image in accordance with the embroidering conditions including thread colors and other elements and being optionally determined. The designated parts of the image may be divided into a plurality of groups in dependence upon the determined embroidering conditions, and each of the groups are dealt with as a single unit. The stitch data are produced for each of the units in accordance with the determined embroidering conditions.

Embroidery stitch data producing device

Disclosed is a device for producing embroidery data on the basis of image data, wherein jump threads extended between unit images are effectively prevented from being stitched into the embroidery stitches by using particular stitch data produced by successively searching the image data from above to set a stitch starting point of each unit image. The stitch data forms the stitches starting from the stitch starting point and terminating at the stitch starting point. Although the jump threads are produced between the stitch starting points, these jump threads will not be stitched into the embroidery stitches.

Device for producing embroidery data on the basis of image data

Disclosed is a device for producing embroidery stitch data on the basis of image data, wherein an image is read in by use of an image scanner and is divided into a plurality of latticed sections. The latticed sections are all searched through one after another and discriminated if each of the sections is stitched or not. Unit stitch patterns are selected to be stitched in the sections respectively which have been discriminated to be stitched, the selected unit stitch patterns including at most two patterns which have different initial stitch points and different end stitch points and are located in predetermined sections respectively.

Disclosed is a device for producing embroidery pattern stitch data, wherein a pattern or patterns may be entered or selected from a memory (3) and the like and optionally positioned. It is discriminated if the selected pattern or patterns may be wholly received in a predetermined stitch area. If the selected pattern or patterns may not be wholly received in the stitch area and partly extend beyond the stitch area, print data may be produced for printing the selected pattern or patterns, and simultaneously for printing reference marks defining the positions and angles of the patterns relative to the work holding frame for holding the work to be stitched.

An apparatus for adjusting the size of a sewing machine pattern for use in a sewing machine is disclosed. The apparatus includes a stitch data storage device for storing stitch data corresponding to each of a plurality of embroidery patterns; a pattern selecting device for selecting a desired one of the plurality of patterns stored in the storage device; a magnification selecting device capable of being manually operated for adjusting the size of the pattern; a magnification displaying device for displaying an adjustment value selected by the magnification selecting device; a key code determining device for determining the stitch data to be valid or invalid on the basis of a relevant one of key codes respectively added to a plurality of items of stitch data for forming the pattern in correspondence with the adjustment value selected; and a size adjusting device for adjusting the size of the pattern in correspondence with the adjustment value selected.

Apparatus for adjusting the size of a sewing machine pattern

An amount of a lower thread to be supplied from a bobbin in each stitch forming operation is first determined on a theoretical basis in accordance with the stitch control data stored in a pattern memory. The sewing machine is provided with a bobbin rotation detector which detects every rotation of the bobbin to estimate a lower thread amount which has actually been supplied from the bobbin. A control unit compares the theoretical amount and the practical amount to lead out a correction coefficient which will be applied to the theoretical amount for the next stitch forming operation.

A multifunction switching control system includes: a sewing speed controller of a computerized sewing machine controlled in response to a voltage of a sliding terminal of a variable resistor incorporated in the controller; an invariable resistor; a first A/D converter for converting the voltage from an analog signal to a first digital signal; and a second A/D converter for converting a voltage at a fixed terminal of the variable resistor from an analog signal to a second digital signal. A switch circuit for directly connecting one terminal of the invariable resistor to the fixed terminal of the variable resistor is provided in the controller. By comparing the second digital signal with a preset value, it is determined whether or not the switch circuit is so operated. In case that the switch circuit is so operated, sewing operation other than sewing speed controls of the machine are conducted.

An electric motor of a sewing machine may be stopped naturally at an objective position by amending the amount of the motor's running errors as overrun or underrun with respect to the stop objective position without employing an especially forceful stopping circuit in spite of dispersions in a load inertia caused by mass-production of sewing machines or variances in loads during driving of the sewing machine.

A position detecting device of a contacting system is incorporated in a computerized sewing machine, which actuates in relation with an output shaft of a pulse motor at an initial setting during sewing operation of a feed control pulse motor or an amplitude control pulse motor, outside of the control region of each of said pulse motors, and the pulse motors are initially set within said control regions by signals from the position detecting device. Therefore a device for initially setting the computerized sewing machine may be provided which is excellent in durability and could promise a stable initial setting for a long period of time.

An electronic sewing machine is disclosed in which a first memory stores a plurality of patterns, a second memory temporarily memorizes pattern numbers each specific to the patterns, a first switch and address pointing means enable the second memory to memorize a series of selected pattern numbers, and a second switch resets the address pointing means. The address pointing means also advances the address of the second memory such that a display indicates the pattern numbers one after the other in the desired order.
