According to one embodiment, a display device includes an imager and an image displayer. The imager images a first image of a first state of an eyelid of a viewer. The image displayer includes a light emitter and an optical unit. The light emitter emits light including image information. The optical unit includes a combiner. The light is incident on the optical unit. The combiner causes at least a portion of the light to be incident on an eyeball of the viewer. The image displayer modifies an incident direction of the portion of the light on the eyeball based on the first image imaged by the imager.

Devices for estimating gaze based on a state of an eyelid of a viewer

An example optical device includes a first optical element and a second optical element. The first optical element has first and second surfaces. A first light emitted by a display is incident on the first surface. The first optical element includes transmissive portions and non-transmissive portions. Each of the transmissive portions extends in a first direction parallel to the first surface. The non-transmissive portions are respectively disposed in regions between the transmissive portions. A light transmittance of the non-transmissive portions is lower than that of the transmissive portions. A second light emitted from the second surface is incident on the second optical element, which emits a third light by condensing the second light. An optical axis of the third light is tilted with respect to an optical axis of the second light in a plane parallel to the first direction.

Optical device

According to one embodiment, a display device includes an imaging unit, an information acquisition unit, a display unit, and a first transmittance control unit. The imaging unit images a first image and generates imaging data. The information acquisition unit acquires first information derived from the imaging data and relating to a second image. The display unit includes an image light emission unit and a semi-transmissive reflection plate. The image light emission unit emits image light. The semi-transmissive reflection plate causes the image light to be incident on one eye and causes background light of the first image to be incident on the one eye. The semi-transmissive reflection plate is disposed between the first transmittance control unit having first and second regions and the one eye. The first transmittance control unit causes a transmittance of the first region to be lower than a transmittance of the second region.

The holding member has a first end, and a second end separated from the first end, and includes a first portion, and a second portion. The first extension portion is connected to the first end. The light emitting unit is configured to be mounted on the first extension portion and to emit light including an image. According to one embodiment, a head mounted display includes a holder, a projector, an optical part, a weight, a detector, a first calculator, and a movement part. The holder includes a frame, a first temple, and a second temple. The first temple and the second temple are respectively connected to each end part of the frame. The projector is provided on the first temple. The projector emits light. The optical part is provided on the frame. The optical part reflects at least part of the light emitted from the projector. The weight is provided on opposite side of the projector. The detector detects tilt of the holder. The first calculator calculates an optimal position of the weight based on the tilt of the holder. The movement part changes the position of the weight according to the optimal position.

A display device includes: a light source configured to generate a coherent light beam; and an optical plate including a plurality of microlenses arranged with a period larger than the diameter of the light beam, the optical plate being configured to control the divergence angle of the light beam.

According to one embodiment, a monocular head mounted display comprising an information acquisition section, an image data generation section, and an image display section. The information acquisition section acquires solid body position information on a position of a solid body located on ground around a user, and indication position information on an indication position for the user. The image data generation section generates image data including an information object to provide provision information to the user. The image display section displays an image based on the image data on one eye of the user in superimposition on a real scene. The image data generation section generates the image data so as to move the information object in the image so that the information object is superimposed on the indication position after placing the information object in the image so that the information object is superimposed on the solid body.

Monocular head mounted display

According to one embodiment, a display apparatus includes an image projection unit, an information acquisition unit and a data supply unit. The image projection unit projects a light flux including an image toward a projection layer which is reflective and transmissive. The information acquisition unit acquires information relating to a position of a three-dimensional object superimposing portion of three-dimensional objects positioned at a road. The road extends from a proximal region of the external environment proximal to the projection layer toward a distal region of the external environment distal to the projection layer. The three-dimensional object superimposing portion is higher than a ground surface and viewable via the projection layer. The data supply unit supplies data relating to the image including a display object to the image projection unit based on the information. The display object is displayed along the three-dimensional object superimposing portion.

Display apparatus

According to one embodiment, a display apparatus includes an image data generation unit configured to generate image data and an image projection unit configured to project a light flux including an image toward a human riding in a vehicle. The image is based on the image data. The image data generation unit is configured to generate the image data relating to the image including a first display object indicating a travel direction of the vehicle at a travel direction change point when a distance between the travel direction change point and the vehicle is a first distance. The image data generation unit is configured to generate the image data relating to the image including a second display object displayed to correspond to a position of the travel direction change point when the distance is a second distance shorter than the first distance.

According to one embodiment, a display apparatus projects a light flux including image information toward one eye. The apparatus includes an image formation unit and a projection unit. The image formation unit is configured to emit the light flux. The projection unit includes a projection region limiting unit and a semi-transmissive reflective unit. The projection region limiting unit is configured to limit a width of the light flux emitted from the image formation unit. The semi-transmissive reflective unit is configured to reflect the light flux emitted from the projection region limiting unit. According to one embodiment, a display device includes an image projection unit, an optical unit and a mounting unit. The image projection unit emits an image light. The optical unit includes a first optical layer having first and second major surfaces, a second optical layer having third and fourth major surfaces and an intermediate layer provided between the second and third major surfaces. At least a portion of the image light travelling from the first major surface toward the second major surface is reflected by the intermediate layer. At least a portion of a background light travelling from the fourth major surface toward the third major surface is transmitted by the intermediate layer. The first major surface or the fourth major surface is a curved surface. The mounting unit is linked to the image projection unit and the optical unit.

Display device

According to one embodiment, a display device includes an image data generating unit and a display unit. The image data generating unit generates image data on an image. The display unit presents a video including the image data to an image viewer on a moving body to superimpose the video on an actual outside scene. The image data includes a first display object and a second display object. The first display object includes a lower part object. The lower part object has a lower part, an upper right part and an upper left part. A length of the lower part along a normal direction is longer than lengths of the upper right and upper left parts. The second display object is disposed in the image with reference to a display position of the first display object. The second display object includes information on the moving body.

A display apparatus for vehicle includes: an image projector configured to project a light flux including an image having a display object toward a one eye of an image viewer; and a position detector configured to detect the one eye of the image viewer. The image projector changes at least one of a position, a shape and a size of the display object in the image on the basis of a position of the one eye detected by the position detector.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes an image projection unit. The image projection unit is configured to project a light flux toward one eye of a human viewer by using a projection plate to reflect the light flux.
