To provide a change of sound in response to a player's operation that is close to the change of sound of real hi-hat cymbals. A hi-hat cymbal sound generation apparatus according to the present invention includes an input part, a recording part, a trigger part and a sound volume control part. The input part acquires state information and vibration information. The recording part records data on a foot close sound, data on a foot open sound, and data on a hit sound in each state indicated by the state information. The trigger part checks whether the vibration indicated by the vibration information falls within a predetermined range in which a sound generation procedure is to be started, and starts sound generation procedures for at least all the hit sounds when the trigger part determines that the vibration falls within the range in which a sound generation procedure is to be started.

An electronic drum pad includes a drum shell; a mesh head stretched at the upper opening of the drum shell; a hard-resin sheet disposed adjacent to the rear surface of the mesh head and having a ring shape with an opening made at a center thereof; a cloth disposed adjacent to the rear surface of the hard-resin sheet; a strike absorbing member disposed adjacent to the rear surface of the cloth and formed by overlaying a plurality of sheets; and a tray disposed adjacent to the rear surface of the strike absorbing member and fitted into the lower opening of the drum shell.

A hi-hat cymbal sound generation apparatus according to the present invention includes an input part, a recording part, a trigger part and a sound volume control part. The input part acquires distance information on a distance between a top pad and a bottom pad, state information and vibration information on a vibration of the top pad. The input part acquires the state information by determining the state information based on a corrected distance, which is obtained by adding a distance correction value, which corresponds to a magnitude of the vibration indicated by the vibration information, to the distance indicated by the distance information. The recording part records data on a hit sound in each state indicated by the state information. The trigger part checks whether the vibration indicated by the vibration information falls within a predetermined range in which a sound generation procedure is to be started.

A pressure point detector has a simple structure and is capable of detecting which location of a two-dimensional surface such as a circle a pressure is applied can be detected. The pressure point detector includes a flexible insulation member in a predetermined shape, a resistance film formed on one side of the flexible insulation member, a conductive member made of conductive material and established to face the insulation member with a with a predetermined gap therebetween, and a pair of electrodes established on the resistance film in a parallel fashion to produce voltage distribution. The component which is picked out is input to distortion applying meanshaving an input-output response which is a non-linear response having no point symmetry with respect to 0 point, thus applying a distortion to cause even-numbered overtone components to be produced. An output from the distortion applying meansand the input audio signal are summed in a summerto be delivered. Natural tones which have boosted bass tones and which are free from impurity are obtained.
