A portable wireless device that makes it possible to maintain any desired matching state and can suppress an increase in the loss accompanying matching if the impedance characteristic of an antenna changes with expansion/storage of the antenna, deformation of a housing, etc., is provided. Two channels of signal paths that can be selected by switch sectionare provided between an antennaand a reception circuit; a first low noise amplifierthat can amplify a received high frequency signal is provided in one path and a second low noise amplifierhaving an impedance characteristic different from the low noise amplifieris provided in the other signal path. The form of the antennaor the form of a housing is detected in a form change detection sectionand the two channels of signal paths are automatically switched in a control section and two types of impedance matching states are used properly.

Portable wireless device

A portable wireless device having a plurality of wireless sections capable of diversity operation which can reduce the size, thickness, weight and manufacturing cost by reducing the number of antennas. The portable wireless device () comprises first through third main antenna devices (-), first through third wireless sections (-) connected, respectively, with the first through third main antenna devices (-) and capable of diversity operation, a sub-antenna device () for diversity operation connected with any one of the first through third wireless sections (-) at the time of diversity operation, and a section () for switching connection of the sub-antenna device () with any one of the first through third wireless sections (-) at the time of diversity operation.

There is adopted an enclosure dipole antenna structure including antenna elements respectively provided in a lower enclosure and an upper enclosure. There is also adopted a structure in which the lower structure and the upper structure are rotatably joined together along two axes of hinges. The enclosures thereby become openable and closable in two directions including a vertical direction and a horizontal direction. There can be implemented high antenna performance without use of an external antenna even regardless of whether the enclosures are opened in the vertical direction or the horizontal direction. A feeding section and a connection section are separated from each other by a distance of 1/20 or more of a wavelength corresponding to an operating frequency. Power can well be fed to the antenna elements.

Portable radio device

A portable radio device of a type having two-direction openable and closable enclosures that can effectively lessen influence on an antenna exerted by a hinge section is provided. A horizontal hinge sectionfor rotatably joining an upper enclosureto a hinge enclosurearound a first shaft center includes a horizontal hinge anchorelectrically connected to a first metal partdisposed in the upper enclosure, a horizontal hinge platethat is placed in the hinge enclosureand that contains a conductive material, and a first hinge shaftthat electrically connects the horizontal hinge anchorto the horizontal hinge plateand that contains a conductive material interposed between an area from a substantial center to an end of a long side of a face along which the upper enclosureand the hinge enclosureface a direction of second shaft center (X). An electrical path length of the lateral hinge sectionincluding the lateral hinge plateand the first hinge shaftcorresponds to a predetermined value that is not a substantially constant multiple of &#x3bb;/8.

A mobile radio apparatus wherein the degradation of communication performance caused by electromagnetic noise can be precluded with enhanced reliability. This mobile telephone unit () comprises a camera body (); a circuit board () that includes partial board parts () located on the two respective sides of the camera body (); a camera shield () that is located close to and opposed to the back surface of the camera body () (which is opposite to the image pickup plane); a camera connection connector () that is connected to the camera body () and grounded in the partial board part (); a frequency limiting part () that is connected to the camera shield () and grounded in the partial board part (); a feeding part () that is located in the partial board part (); and a matching circuit part () that is located and grounded in the partial board part (). This can limit those ones of the frequencies of interference components dissipated from the camera body () to the circuit board () which adversely affect the communication, so that the degradation of communication performance caused by electromagnetic noise can be precluded with enhanced reliability.

Mobile radio apparatus

A portable wireless device has no externally projecting part even when a card type functional medium has been therein inserted, and allows downsizing and obtaining high antenna performance. The portable wireless device includes a card slot () in a substrate () of a lower housing (), and includes a slot cover () that can block an opening portion of the card slot (). The slot cover () is integrally provided with a parasitic element (). The parasitic element () is, when an SDIO card () is inserted, arranged so as to be in proximity substantially parallel with the antenna element () of the SDIO card (), has an electrical length which is approximately one-half wavelength of a driving frequency of an RF circuit () of the SDIO card (), and electromagnetically couples with the antenna element () to operate as a parasitic element.

The present invention has an object to provide a portable terminal apparatus capable of reducing that antenna characteristics of respective antenna elements are deteriorated due to antenna coupling phenomena even when a plurality of wireless communication functions are carried out at the same time by utilizing a plurality of antennas. The portable terminal apparatusof the present invention is comprised of: a first wireless unitfor performing a wireless communication by utilizing electromagnetic waves of a first frequency range; a second wireless unitfor performing a wireless communication by utilizing electromagnetic waves of a second frequency range which is different from the first frequency range; a first antenna elementconnected to the first wireless unit; and a second antenna elementconnected to the second wireless unit; and in the portable terminal apparatus, an impedance characteristic of the first antenna elementhas a first frequency characteristic in which at least a characteristic in the first frequency range is superior than a characteristic in the second frequency range; and an impedance characteristic of the second antenna elementhas a second frequency characteristic in which at least a characteristic in the second frequency range is superior than a characteristic in the first frequency range.
