An endoscope includes: a treatment instrument elevator base including a contact surface which contacts with a treatment instrument inserted into a treatment instrument insertion channel, and rotatably provided to a distal end to elevate the instrument; a contact portion provided to the distal end to contact with the instrument when the elevator base is elevated; a first leading portion provided to the contact surface to lead the instrument to a predetermined position on the contact surface as the elevator base is rotated; a holding portion provided to the contact surface and the contact portion, and including a grasping surface for sandwiching the instrument with a diameter not exceeding a predetermined value; and a second leading portion provided to the contact portion to lead the instrument larger than the grasping surface away from the holding portion.

Endoscope

An endoscope has a first bending portion, a second bending portion, and a hand-held unit. The first bending portion is the distal portion of an elongated insertion member and has a plurality of joint pieces concatenated so that the joint pieces can rotate freely. The second bending portion is located at the proximal end of the first bending portion, and has a plurality of joint pieces concatenated so that the joint pieces can rotate freely. The hand-held unit is located at the proximal end of the insertion member, and has a control section that is used to bend the first bending portion and second bending portion. In the endoscope, the control section of the hand-held unit has an angling knob that is used to bend the first bending portion, and a second angling lever that is used to bend the second bending portion.

An endoscope has a first bending portion and a second bending portion. The first bending portion is the distal portion of an elongated insertion member and bent in four directions substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the insertion member. The second bending portion is bent in at least two directions substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the insertion member. An endoscope system includes an endoscope, two control apparatuses, electric cables, and two electric connector receptacles. The endoscope has a connector unit, which includes a light source connector to be coupled to a light source apparatus, fixed to the proximal end of a universal cord extending from an operation unit. The two control apparatuses electrically control the endoscope. The electric cables electrically link the control apparatuses and the endoscope. The two electric connector receptacles are included in the connector unit of the endoscope. Connectors attached to the electric cables are coupled to the two electric connector receptacles. When the connector of one of the electric cables is mounted on a first electric connector receptacle of the two electric connector receptacles, the direction in which the connector is oriented to be mounted is orthogonal to the direction in which the light source connector is oriented to be coupled to the light source apparatus. When the connector of the other electric cable is mounted on a second electric connector receptacle, the direction in which the connector is oriented to be mounted is the same as the direction in which the light source connector is oriented to be coupled to the light source apparatus.

In an endoscope of the present invention, while a cover indicator on a distal cover is aligned with a scope indicator on a main distal part, the distal cover is put on the main distal part in an axial direction at a certain insertion angle. Thereafter, the distal cover is rotated while being thrust in the axial direction. The stoppage of a locking convex part of a hook of the main distal part by a claw of a reinforcement member is released, and the locking convex part of the hook is positioned in a locking ditch of the reinforcement member. The head of the hook is constrained to move in the axial direction by means of a main distal cover that is an elastic member and the claw. The locking convex part is then fitted into the locking ditch reliably. Consequently, the distal cover can be fixed to the main distal part readily, freely detachably, and reliably with high positioning precision.

An endoscope includes an operation section and an insertion section extending from the operation section. In a distal end portion of the insertion section is arranged a solid-state imaging apparatus 40 for converting an optical image imaged by an objective unit into an electric signal and outputting the signal. The imaging apparatus includes a base and a solid-state imaging element tip mounted on the base and having a light-receiving section and a plurality of electrodes. A plurality of leads are provided at the base. A transparent cover plate is fixed to the base and has a surface facing the light-receiving section. A lead pattern is formed on the surface of the cover plate and electrically connects the leads and the electrodes.

An endoscope is disclosed which includes a lens unit having a lens frame and lens frame cover and plurality of lenses attached to the lens frame, and image sensor unit located behind the lens frame. The image sensor unit comprises an electroconductive image sensor housing whose forward end portion is attached to the outer periphery of a rear end portion of the lens frame and which has a recess at the rear end portion, electric circuit section comprised of a solid-state image sensor fitted into the recess of the image sensor housing and having a plurality of lead-in pins and electric circuit components electrically connected to the lead-in pins, electroconductive shield pipe attached at a forward end portion to the outer periphery of the rear end portion of the image sensor housing, having a rearwardly extending rear end and including the whole electric circuit section therein, a cable fixing frame located behind an electric circuit section, fixed to the rear end portion of the shield pipe with an electroconductive pipe holder and having a through recess or recesses, and shielding wires inserted into the shield pipe and each having an outer cover, external conductors, and internal conductors electrically connected to associated electric components or lead-in pins.
