An ink-jet recording sheet is disclosed. The recording sheet comprises ink absorption layers containing a cationic substance on both sides of a support having an opacity of not less than 94% according to JIS P 8138.

There is disclosed a thermal transfer recording medium having excellent resistance to solvent, heat and rubbing. The recording medium has a transfer layer consisting of plural layers and at least one of the plural layers contains a thermoplastic resin having a glass transition point of 120.degree. C. or higher.

A thermal transfer recording medium comprising a support having thereon a first heat softening layer and a second softening layer is disclosed. In the medium the first softening layer contains a heat-fusible substance, and the second heat softening layer contains a resin having a melt index value of 2-1500.

A thermal transfer recording medium having an anchor layer containing a resin component and carbon black between a thermally fusible colorant layer and a support and its manufacturing method are disclosed.
