In a method for monitoring a state of a safety bearing of a rotor shaft of a machine, with the rotor shaft being supported by a magnetic bearing and the safety bearing having an outer ring and an inner ring arranged for rotation with respect to the outer ring, the rotor shaft of the machine is caught with the safety bearing when the magnetic bearing of the machine fails. The magnetic bearing is witched off for monitoring the state of the safety bearing. The rotor shaft is rotated with the machine under control of a higher-ranking controller by using a defined motion sequence, and a physical variable of the safety bearing is measured with a sensor.

Machine and method for monitoring the state of a safety bearing of a machine

An operating method for container quay cranes used to load and unload container ships aided by a PC with a monitor in a crane driver's cabin. The crane driver operates a touchscreen on the monitor, thereby enabling the crane to reach its specified target in a fully or partially automatic manner. The invention relates to a component that is suitable for use as a sliding bearing. The invention further relates to a method for the production of said component. The design of the component according to the invention provides a layer of a light metal material (), which is provided with an oxide layer () containing pores () in the direction of the sliding surface () of the component. A hard material () is placed in the pores, which greatly increases the firmness of said layer region, thus creating the mechanical firmness for use as a sliding bearing. In order to counteract the tendency of said firm layer region to experience brittle failure, the oxide layer () is coated with a solid lubricant layer (). Said solid lubricant layer comprises a metallic, ductile matrix (), which distributes a force (F) acting at certain points over a larger surface region (b). In order to improve the sliding characteristics, particles of a solid lubricant () are simultaneously embedded in the solid lubricant layer ().

A bearing arrangement and a bearing block includes a magnetic radial bearing for the contact-less support of a rotor shaft of a rotating machine, and a touchdown bearing for catching the rotor shaft. Both bearings are connected to each other permanently and in an axially aligned manner, and are elastically suspended with regard to a bearing shield, a machine housing, or a foundation of the rotating machine.
