A scattered radiation grid for absorbing secondary radiation scattered by an object comprises a support, and a plurality of spaced-apart absorbing elements affixed to the support. The plurality of absorbing elements comprises relatively small tubes or pins affixed to the support via plug-in or clamping fixtures.

Scattered radiation grid or collimator

A method is for producing and applying an antiscatter grid or collimator to an x-ray or gamma detector having matricially arranged detector elements which form a detector surface with detection regions sensitive to x-radiation and/or gamma radiation and less sensitive intermediate regions. In the method, a basic structure is firstly produced for the antiscatter grid or collimator by way of a rapid prototyping technique, through which transmission channels and intermediate walls of the antiscatter grid or collimator are formed which have at least in a first direction a center-to-center spacing which is equal to or an integral multiple of a center-to-center spacing of the sensitive detection regions of the detector. The intermediate walls are coated with a material which strongly absorbs x-radiation and/or gamma radiation in order to finish the antiscatter grid or collimator. Subsequently, the antiscatter grid or collimator is applied to the detector surface and connected to the detector surface in such a way that at least the intermediate walls running perpendicular to the first direction, or their coating, are situated over the less sensitive intermediate regions of the detector surface. A detector having an antiscatter grid or collimator in which no moir&#xe9; interference occurs can thus be realized in a simple way.

Method for producing and applying an antiscatter grid or collimator to an x-ray or gamma detector

A method is for producing an antiscatter grid or collimator for a radiation type, which is formed from a base body of predeterminable geometry having transmission channels for primary radiation of the radiation type which extend between two opposite surfaces of the base body. In the method, the base body is constructed by use of a rapid prototyping technique by layer-wise solidification of a structural material, which is substantially transmissive to the radiation type, under the action of radiation. Inner surfaces of the base body in the transmission channels are coated with a material, which strongly absorbs the radiation type, up to a layer thickness which suffices to virtually completely absorb incident secondary radiation of the radiation type. The opposite surfaces of the base body are not coated, or are aftertreated in such a way that they do not bear a coating or bear a coating of greatly reduced layer thickness made from the material strongly absorbing the radiation type. The method permits the simple production of an antiscatter grid or collimator with high primary beam transparency.

Antiscatter grid or collimator, and a method of production

An antiscatter device, such as a grid or collimator, is for absorption of secondary radiation which is scattered by an object. The antiscatter device includes an absorption structure with a plurality of elements. Two or more elements form a cell-like structure with a beam channel for primary radiation. Further, the elements and thus the cell-like structures are arranged and/or formed such that the absorption structure has a non-regular, aperiodic pattern.

Antiscatter grid or collimator

A method for producing a scattered radiation grid or collimator which, for an incident radiation type, has transmissive regions and nontransmissive regions of predeterminable geometry. First the geometry of the transmissive and the nontransmissive regions of the scattered radiation grid or collimator is set. On the basis of this geometry, a base body is constructed according to the geometry, optionally differing by a particular layer thickness, of the transmissive regions or the nontransmissive regions by a rapid prototyping technique through layer-wise solidification of a structural material under the action of radiation. On the basis of this base body, the scattered radiation grid or collimator is finally completed.

Method for producing a scattered radiation grid or collimator

A computed tomography apparatus has a gantry with an X-ray source and an x-ray detector, and at least one further, curved solid-state radiation detector that is movable into and out of the beam path of the x-ray source is provided in the gantry.

Computed tomography apparatus also employable for x-ray diagnostic examinations

A system for the registration of radiation images has a radiation pick-up device and a control device controlling the operation thereof. The radiation pick-up device has a charge layer that generates electrical charges dependent on the incident radiation and an allocated electrode layer that is chargeable with high-voltage for triggering an electron-multiplying avalanche effect in the charge layer by virtue of a potential produced across the charge layer by the high-voltage. A read-out device reads out the generated charges in the charge layer by means of an electron beam. The potential via the charge layer can be modulated for varying the gain of the charge layer caused by the avalanche effect.

System for the registration of radiation images

In an arrangement having an X-ray detector or a gamma detector with detector elements arranged in a matrix in row and column directions that form a detector surface with detection regions that are sensitive to X-rays or gamma radiation and insensitive intermediate regions, and a stray radiation grid or collimator of absorbent structure elements that is arranged over the detector surface, the absorbent structure elements proceed over the intermediate regions and are fashioned such that their detector-side center-to-center spacing in the row direction and/or column direction is greater by a whole-numbered factor than the center-to-center spacing of the detector elements in the same direction, and/or sections of the absorbent structure elements that proceed in one direction exhibit a lower height than sections that proceed in the respectively other direction. Moir&eacute; effects can be avoided in the image exposure and, at the same time, a reduced primary radiation absorption by the stray radiation grid or collimator is achieved even given a moving radiation source.

X-ray detector/stray radiation grid and gamma detector/collimator arrangements

A medical examination installation has an MR system and an X-ray system that has an X-ray radiator with an X-ray tube and a solid-state X-ray image detector for producing X-ray exposures. The X-ray system has sensors for the acquisition of the location dependency of the stray field of the MR system in the three spatial axes, and coils for compensation of the stray field, and a computer that uses the output signal of the sensors to calculate a current for the coils which cause the stray field to be reduced in the region of the electron beams of the X-ray tube.

An X-ray mammography device has an X-ray tube arrangement, a compression mechanism, a subject table, and a large-area solid-state detector made of amorphous silicon (a-Si) which is integrated in a detector cassette that can be inserted into the subject table and that has a first part of at least one transmission path for supplying the operating voltage, and/or the control signals for operating the solid-state detector and/or the readout data, this first said part engaging functionally with a corresponding second part of the transmission path which is attached at the subject table.

An X-ray diagnostic apparatus has an X-ray source that emits a diverging X-ray beam bundle that strikes a planar X-ray image converter at various angles, the converter having a substrate, image elements on the substrate arranged in a matrix with a semiconductor layer and a layer that absorbs X-ray beams. The X-ray-absorbing layer is fashioned thicker in the region at which a perpendicular ray of the X-ray beam bundle strikes the detector than in the region at which an oblique ray strikes, so that the reduction of the modulation transfer function in the region of an oblique beam incidence remains as small as possible.

X-ray diagnostic apparatus with an X-ray converter

A transducer sensitive to electromagnetic radiation has a substrate with printed conductor runs arranged on both sides, a sensor that is sensitive to radiation glued over a large surface at the front side of the substrate, and of a thermal expansion-compensating 'dummy' component connected to the back side of the substrate. The printed conductor runs have connections to one another only in the middle region of the substrate, and otherwise are free of intersections. The basic orientation of the conductor runs can be stellate or right-angled. The absence of conductor run intersections allows gas to escape during the gluing process, so that gas pockets do not form in the adhesive, which can degrade the quality of the adhesive connection.

Transducer sensitive to radiation

An X-Ray exposure apparatus for digital mammography allows an exposure of the entire breast to be obtained with a single solid state detector. To this end, an apparatus housing is provided has an acute angle at the patient side, with a device for the deflection of the image from a luminescent screen and optics for imaging this image on the solid state detector are arranged at this side. The solid state detector is arranged at the patient-remote side of the X-ray exposure apparatus.

X-ray exposure apparatus for digital mammography

A radiation-sensitive transducer with a doped semiconductor sensor is to be constructed on a mounting plate such that it does not deform during temperature fluctuations. On the back side of the mounting plate, i.e., the side opposite the side on which the semiconductor sensor is mounted, an additional element having the same dimensions as the semiconductor sensor is attached opposite the semiconductor sensor. The additional element is composed of the same semiconductor material as of the semiconductor sensor, but is undoped. Due to the corresponding size and material of the semiconductor sensor and the additional element, they respectively produce equal but opposite forces acting on the mounting plate during temperature fluctuations, so no deformation occurs.
