Various examples are directed to using a web-based analytics system to determine a carbon footprint metric for a product. The web-based analytics system may import indirect carbon footprint data from an environmental compliance system and quantity structure data describing the product from an accounting system table. The web-based analytics system may identify, using the quantity structure data, a first constituent component for the product and import first constituent component carbon footprint data for the first constituent component. The web-based analytics system may identify an activity for the product and import activity carbon footprint data describing a carbon footprint for the activity. The web-based analytics system may determine the carbon footprint metric for the product using the first constituent component carbon footprint data, the activity carbon footprint data, and the indirect carbon footprint data.

Database system and method for carbon footprint optimization

Two configurable user interface building blocks, an analytics list building block and a search building block, may interface with business planning data in both business intelligence systems and enterprise resource planning systems through an application controller to provide business planning models and applications. The search building block may include parameters to select fields from queries, filters, planning functions, and sequences to filter data included in the planning model. The analytics list building block may provide an interface for customizing components of business planning models. The application controller may ensure application integrity, execute a planning function on the data in the business planning model, and populate an interface with data.

In an embodiment of the invention, analytical data may be extracted from a business intelligence (BI) system on criteria specified in metadata of a business intelligence query. Once the data is extracted from the BI system, the extracted content may be provided in the context of semantic identifiers. In one embodiment, the semantic identifiers may be obtained from the criteria specified in the query. In another embodiment, the semantic identifiers may be defined in and obtained from a separate enterprise service repository. A database system may include a database, a set of tools for accessing the database, a data buffer for storing data objects from the database, and a 'delta buffer' for storing delta records. Simulations may be performed in the database system by the set of tools that access the database. Simulative changes of the data may be handled by the delta buffer. The delta buffer need not contain all the data used for simulations and may include delta records. Each delta record may include simulative changes of the data and a request identifier. The content of the delta buffer may be integrated with the unchanged, original data from the database. The delta buffer in combination with the data buffer may provide an integrated view for tools that access the database, such as planning and reporting tools.

Delta-mechanism for integration of OLAP-based planning and reporting

Systems and techniques for the hybrid provision of data are described. In one aspect, a system includes a first collection of information stored in accordance with a reporting data model, a second collection of information setting forth a collection of one or more additive delta records, and an analytic engine to perform queries on the first collection of information and the second collection of information to yield an aggregated result set that is based on the contents of both the first collection of information and the second collection of information. The additive delta records each include a numeric value that characterizes the magnitude of a change to a numeric measure in the first collection and identification information that identifies the numeric measure in the first collection. The identified numeric measure is no longer current.
