Gearshift device for change-speed gearboxes of motor vehicles

In a gearshift device for a motor vehicle manual transmission, comprising a shift finger (6), located on an axially slidable and radially twistable shift shaft (1), which can be brought into engagement with grooves in shift arms of shift forks and which carries a cylindrical guide member (4), movable together with the shift finger, which co-operates with at least one spring-loaded ball catch (8), the cylindrical guide member (4) is formed of sheet material and exhibits a shift gate (9), in the form of a stamped slit, for a stationary shift pin (7), to guide the shifting movement and is provided at the outer circumference with troughs (10) extending parallel to the cylinder axis to latch with a stationary, spring loaded ball catch (8), and a part-cylindrical spring segment (11) is disposed within the cylindrical guide member (4) and is provided with a ramp-like depression (15) which co-operates with the stationary, rotatably mounted shift pin (7) to form a reverse gear shift block.

Gearshift device for a motor vehicle manual transmission

A gear shifting device for change-speed gearboxes having a forward gear and a reverse gear in a common shift plane, including a housing, a shifter rod slidably supported within the housing, a shifter fork having a bridge axially slidable on the shifter rod, and a shifter arm having a selector finger selectively engageable with the shifter fork. The shifter arm moves in a first direction from a neutral position to select the forward gear and in a substantially opposite second direction from the neutral position to select the reverse gear. A first pin and cam connection is provided between the shifter arm and reverse gear so that movement of the selector finger in the first direction of the shift plane from the neutral position engages forward gear while reverse gear is not affected by movement in the first direction. A second pin and cam connection is provided between the shifter arm and forward gear so that movement of the selector finger in the second direction of the shift plane from the neutral position engages reverse gear and the forward gear is not affected by movement in the second direction.

In a change-speed gearbox or motor vehicles with a front molted transverse drive unit comprising a change-speed gearbox in line with an engine and a final drive (10) which is driven by the output gearwheel (9) of the change-speed gearbox and has its main axle mounted in the gearbox housings 1, 2, the final drive (10) is a bevel gear right-angle drive consisting of a crown wheel (11) and a pinion (12) and the crown wheel (11) is arranged on an axle member (13) consisting of the same material as the gearbox housings.
