Various embodiments are directed to a carriage lift assembly comprising: at least one frame element configured to secure the carriage lift assembly relative to a first mast and a second mast; and at least one spreader arm extending laterally and defining at least a portion of a lift width; wherein the spreader arm width of the spreader arm comprises a selectively adjustable configuration, wherein the lift width is configured to be selectively adjustable based at least in part on the adjustable configuration of the spreader arm width. In various embodiments, the at least one spreader arm comprises an at least partially resilient configuration such that, in response to a force acting on the spreader arm in one or more directions, the spreader arm may exhibit a movement in the one or more directions so as to absorb at least a portion of the force.

An apparatus for an air turbine starter for an engine. The air turbine starter includes a housing defining an inlet, an outlet, and a flow path extending between the inlet and the outlet for communicating a flow of gas there through. A turbine member is journaled within the housing and disposed within the flow path for rotatably extracting mechanical power from the flow of gas and having a turbine output shaft. The air turbine starter further includes a planetary gear system drivingly coupled with the turbine output shaft and including a sun gear, a ring gear mounted to the housing, and a set of planetary gears operably coupling the sun gear and the ring gear with the sun gear is coupled to the turbine output shaft.

A print media moving apparatus includes a web guide positioned immediately upstream relative to a roller. The web guide has an arcuate surface including three sections with the second section located between the first and third sections. The arcuate surface includes a peak in the second section. The roller, having a diameter and rotational axis, includes three sections with the second section located between the first and third section as viewed along the rotational axis. The diameter of the roller in the first and third sections is greater than in the second section. The three sections of the web guide correspond to the three sections of the roller such that the contour of the arcuate surface causes the print media, after leaving the web guide, to contact the first and third sections of the roller prior to contacting the second section of the roller.

A media inverting system is described for a cut sheet printing system. A first media transport advances a media sheet in a first direction, the media sheet having a first side that contacts the first media transport and an opposing second side. A rotatable member having a rotation axis that is substantially parallel to the first direction receives the media sheet from the first media transport and rotates to advance the media sheet around the rotatable member. A rotatable member force mechanism is switchable between a first state where the second side of the media sheet is held to the rotatable member, and a second state where the media sheet is released. A second media transport receives the media sheet from the rotatable member and advances the media sheet in an inverted orientation in a second direction that is substantially parallel to the first direction.

A printing system includes one or more lineheads disposed opposite a first side of a print media and at least one vacuum assembly having a vacuum manifold disposed opposite a second side of the print media. The linehead or lineheads has one or more print zones where a liquid or ink is deposited onto the first side of the print media. The vacuum manifold is aligned with a non-print zone of each linehead and outputs a vacuum force proximate to the second side of the print media such that at least a portion of the second side of the print media is deflected away from the lineheads. The printing system can also include another component, such as a dryer, disposed over the print media and laterally adjacent to the linehead. Another vacuum manifold can be disposed adjacent to the second side print media between the linehead and the component.

A media inverting system for inverting a media sheet, including a first media transport, a rotatable member, and a second media transport. A rotatable member force mechanism is switchable between a first state where a first side of the media sheet is held to the rotatable member and a second state where the media sheet is released. A control system controls the rotatable member force mechanism according to a control sequence including: switching the rotatable member force mechanism to its first state to receive the media sheet from the first media transport and hold the media sheet to the rotatable member while it is wrapped around the rotatable member; and switching the rotatable member force mechanism to its second state to release the media sheet in synchronization with the media sheet being received by the second media transport.

Condensation control systems are provided for use with inkjet printing systems that use a combination of higher resistance flow areas and lower resistance flow areas to allow a vaporized carrier fluid reducing airflow to flow between a printing module and a receiver during printing without creating observable artifacts in a print.
