A device may determine base confidence factor data for a plurality of edge devices, and may identify an upgrade for the plurality of edge devices. The device may cause the upgrade to be incrementally implemented by a set of edge devices of the plurality of edge devices, and may receive variable confidence factor data associated with implementing the upgrade by the set of edge devices. The device may calculate a confidence score based on the base confidence factor data and the variable confidence factor data, and may determine whether the confidence score satisfies a score threshold. The device may selectively cause the upgrade to be removed from the set of edge devices based on the confidence score failing to satisfy the score threshold, or cause the upgrade to be implemented by a remaining set of edge devices, of the plurality of edge devices, based on the confidence score satisfying the score threshold.

Utilizing confidence scores to assess versions and rollouts of device upgrades

A device comprises processing circuitry configured to configure an edge device to collect telemetry flow data output by a plurality of network devices and to generate processed telemetry flow data based on the collected telemetry flow data. The processing circuitry is further configured to receive the processed telemetry flow data from the edge device and store an indication of the processed telemetry flow data.

The device may provide one or more timeline views of the particular metrics correlated with the particular KPI.

Identifying and correlating metrics associated with unhealthy key performance indicators

A device comprises processing circuitry configured to identify a telemetry packet indicating telemetry data for a plurality of packets output by a network device of a plurality of network devices and select a source identifier for the network device from a plurality of source identifiers. The processing circuitry is further configured to modify the telemetry packet to further indicate the selected source identifier and output the modified telemetry packet.

Network management techniques are described. A controller device of this disclosure manages a device group of a network. The controller device includes processing circuitry in communication with the memory, the processing circuitry being configured to receive, using a programmable diagnosis service executed by the processing circuitry, a programming input, to form, using the programmable diagnosis service, based on the programming input, a resource definition graph that models interdependencies between a plurality of resources supported by the device group, to detect, using the programmable diagnosis service, an event affecting a first resource of the plurality of resources, and to identify, using the programmable diagnosis service, based on the interdependencies modeled in the resource definition graph formed based on the programming input, a root cause event that caused the event affecting the first resource, the root cause event occurring at a second resource of the plurality of resources.

Programmable diagnosis model for correlation of network events

A device may receive network data associated with a network, and may calculate, based on the network data, key performance indicators (KPIs) for the network. The device may generate a first user interface that depicts one or more of the KPIs, and may receive a selection of a particular KPI from the one or more KPIs displayed by the first user interface. The device may parse a set of rules, utilized to calculate the particular KPI, to generate a parsed set of rules, and may analyze the parsed set of rules to identify particular metrics utilized to calculate the particular KPI. The device may generate a second user interface that depicts one or more timeline views of the particular metrics correlated with the particular KPI, and may provide the second user interface for display.

A secure IGP topology or other link state topology can be implemented by a network security unit that runs in a centralized environment on servers separate from a network associated with the IGP topology. The network security unit acquires the topology information, such as by participating in IGP or through border gateway protocol with link state (BGP-LS). The network security unit detects possible network problems, such as indicators of potential network attacks. Once an indicator of a potential network attack is detected, the network security unit identifies the node that is compromised. Once the compromised node is identified, the network security unit can report the node for manual or automated intervention. In some aspects, the network security unit can isolate the compromised node by shutting down links connected to the compromised node.

Secure network topology

A method includes determining, by a controller device that manages a plurality of network devices, device characteristic information for a network device of the plurality of network devices and selecting, by the controller device, one or more sensors from a plurality of sensors based on the device characteristic information for the network device. The method further includes outputting, by the controller device, an instruction to cause the network device to generate the one or more selected sensors at the network device and receiving, by the controller device, sensor information from the one or more selected sensors generated at the network device.
