Systems and methods for enabling a system to rapidly respond to wireless instructions being transmitted by a personal device over one of several communications networks that share a common RF medium are provided. During operation of the system, certain network communications may take priority over other network communications. Rapid response communications enable a user to communicate with the system, using the personal device, in a manner that does not collide or interfere with higher priority network communications.

Systems and methods for processing coexisting signals for rapid response to user input

The various implementations disclosed herein pertain to methods and systems for detecting a state of monitored objects in a premises. In one aspect, a method is performed at a computer system that is communicably coupled to sensor devices. The computer system receives and processes information of acoustic signals against a database of stored acoustic signatures characterizing predefined acoustic signals generated by electrically non-powered passive tags in response to physical motion of respective monitored objects associated with the passive tags. It receives a first acoustic signal characterized by a first acoustic signature and generated by a first passive tag. In response to the receiving, based on the first acoustic signature and information in the database, it identifies the first monitored object associated with the first acoustic signature, determines a first state of the first monitored object, and provides a notification of the first state to an occupant of the premises.

Systems and methods for monitoring objects and their states by using acoustic signals

The various implementations described herein include methods, devices and systems for detecting trigger events and executing security protocols. In one aspect, a method is performed at a server system that is coupled to a smart device system and a client device, the smart device system located at a premises. The server system: (1) detects an unverified user within the premises based on data collected by the smart device system, wherein the data is communicated to the server system via the wide area networks; (2) provides a notification regarding the unverified user to authorized users via the wide area networks; (3) receives, from a first authorized user, a first user input in response to the notification; and (4) in response to receiving the first user input, executes a security operation at the premises based on the first user input.

The computer system obtains a database of stored acoustic signatures characterizing predefined acoustic signals generated by passive tags in response to physical motion of the passive tags. The passive tags are associated with non-provisioned devices, and the acoustic signatures are associated with sets of executable instructions for provisioning the non-provisioned devices. A first acoustic signal characterized by a respective acoustic signature and generated by a first passive tag is detected. In response, and based on the respective acoustic signature and information in the database, a first non-provisioned device associated with the respective acoustic signature is identified, and a first set of executable instructions for provisioning the first non-provisioned device is identified. After, the computer system causes execution of the first set of executable instructions, thereby causing to commence a software process for provisioning the first non-provisioned device.

Systems and methods for provisioning devices using acoustic signals

A computer system is communicably coupled to one or more sensor devices. The computer system obtains a database of stored acoustic signatures characterizing predefined acoustic signals generated by passive tags in response to physical motion of respective monitored objects associated with the passive tags. A first acoustic signal characterized by a respective acoustic signature and generated by a first passive tag is detected. In response, and based on the respective acoustic signature and information in the database, a first monitored object associated with the respective acoustic signature is identified, and a first state of the first monitored object is determined. The determined first state is stored in the database, and an indication of the first state is provided to an associated monitoring service.

Systems and methods systems and methods for altering a state of system using a remote device that processes gestures are described herein. The electronic device can communicate with the system in response to monitoring a user generated gesture or other interaction. For example, a user can wave the personal device or wave to the personal device, and in response thereto, the personal device can transmit an instruction to the system that causes it to change its operational state. Thus, embodiments discussed herein enable a user to perform remote gestures with a first device to affect the operation of a second device.

Systems and methods for altering a state of a system using a remote device that processes gestures

A computer system detects a trigger event, which includes detecting an unverified user within the premises. A notification is provided regarding the detected trigger event to one or more authorized users distinct from the unverified user. Further, a first user input responsive to the notification and corresponding to instructions to execute a first security protocol is received from a first authorized user of the one or more authorized users. In response to receiving the first user input, the first security protocol is executed. Executing the first security protocol includes presenting to the unverified user an authentication request and monitoring the premises for a response to the authentication request. Furthermore, executing the first security protocol includes executing or declining to execute a second security protocol based on the response to the authentication request.
