Gold preparations are used for the production of highly porous coatings on metal surfaces by means of sintering. 1 to 10% by weight of a pore former is added to these gold preparations, the pore former comprises a material which suddenly decomposes or evaporates at 700.degree. to 1050.degree. C. and escapes from the layer without leaving a residue. Plastics and dental waxes in powder form are preferably used to this end.

In dental technology, in order to match root posts to curved root canals, the fixation part consists of a material with mechanical properties, such as ductility and flexural rigidity, that permit topical matching of the fixation part to the curved root canal. For example, the ductility increases from the oral side of the fixation part to the root apex.

Noble metal alloys are used to produce attachments that can be cast-on, particularly in dental technology, having a melting range above 1500.degree. C. The alloys comprise about 40-70% platinum, about 10-40% palladium, about 5-20% iridium, about 0.5-10% gold, about 0-13 3% silver and about 0-1% each of ruthenium and rhodium.

Attachments in the field of dental technology made of noble metal alloys

A T-attachment for the detachable fastening of dental prostheses and bridges to the residual denture which is still elastic after activation and which makes possible an even friction. The T-attachment consists of a matrix and a patrix. The patrix is provided with a continuous slot and has a longitudinal beam. An activation part is attached to the longitudinal beam, and also is provided with a slot. The slot in the activation part is open adjacent the longitudinal beam of the patrix, but has a closed slot end within the activation part. Activation is achieved by means of a conical screw which is inserted parallel to the slot end, within the activation part, the cone of the screw being located in the shaft area of the screw.

T-attachment for the detachable fastening of dental prostheses

Attachment device for dental prostheses includes male and female members with said male member including an elongated matrix member having a wall in which is formed a slot with a tongue defining the outside wall of the slot with the tongue being bendable to change the size of the slot and to provide resistance to relative movement between the male and female members when the male member is inserted into the female member; the tongue and slot are located in the middle section of the male member which comprises approximately 20 to 40 percent of the length of the male member.

Cast alloys which should be suited for both the production of removable dental construction (model casting technique) and also for permanent crowns and bridges with ceramic facing (firing technique) must combine good firing properties and good tensile strength and strain values. Alloys of this type consist of 65-85% Pd, 0-10% Au and/or 0-5% Pt, 0.1-10% Sn, 1-10% Ga, 1-12% Cu as well as 0.5-1.5 Ru and/or 0.05-0.7% Re.

There are applied gold containing preparations as intermediate layers for facing fired on alloys with ceramic compositions in the dental art. These gold preparations should improve the adhesiveness, form a structured surface and make possible a saving in the consumption of gold. This is accomplished with preparations that contain 60 to 95% gold powder, at least 50% of which are platelet shaped particles, 5-40% of a binder and in a given case up to 20 of a powder as an adhesive which is made of metals and/or non-metals.

Gold-containing preparations which improve the adhesiveness, guarantee an esthetic appearance, and should make possible a saving in gold consumption are needed for the production of intermediate layers for the facings of fired on alloys in the dental art with ceramic compositions. This is accomplished with preparation that contain 50 to 94% gold powder having a particle size &lt;30.mu., 5-40% binder made of organic solvent and resin components are 1-20% of a metal powder whose particle size is greater than of the gold powder used and whose melting temperature is above that of gold.
