A hoisting device and method of making the same including a hoist body having an inwardly extending post pocket that includes an inwardly facing body groove extending about a post pocket axis. The hoist body further includes an access opening in communication with the body groove. The hoisting device further including a post having a post head that has an outwardly extending post groove configured to functionally align with the body groove of the body such that the two groove are in functional alignment with one another when in an assembled position. The access opening allowing a plurality of bearings to be directed into the bearing groove when the post is in assembled position within the bearing pocket. The hoist device further includes a plug to selectively close the access opening thereby maintaining the plurality of bearings in the bearing grooves.

Hoisting device

A mounting and alignment system for selectively securing and accurately aligning a first plate relative to a second plate, the mounting system including a shank and a receiver arrangement with an annular locking ring and an annular receiver bushing. The bushing having an inner passage and an oppositely facing outer bushing surface. The outer bushing surface having at least one receiver bearing surface shaped to engage a bearing surface of an associated mounting opening in one of the plates to align the receiver bushing laterally within the opening. The inner passage of the bushing being shaped to receive and align with a shaft portion of the shank. The locking ring configured to secure the bushing axially within the mounting opening.

Mounting system

A mounting system with a receiver arrangement having a double sided configuration, the bushing having an inner passage and an oppositely facing outer surface, the outer bushing surface having at least one receiver bearing surface shaped to engage a bearing surface of the mounting opening to align the receiver laterally within the opening, the bushing being locked or lockable within a mounting opening and further including two locking arrangements for allowing the selectively locking of a shank from either end.

A two jaw vise having a base extending in a longitudinal direction between two ends, a central fixed block and opposing jaws on either side of the central block. The opposing jaws being movable longitudinally and joined to the base for controlled movement longitudinally. The base including a base block extending longitudinally between the first and second ends and including first and second longitudinally extending rails. The first and second rails extending parallel to the base block and being spaced from the base block. The first and second rails at least partially forming the controlled movement of the jaws. The base further including first and second pluralities of vertically extending columns extending between the base block and the first and second rails, respectively. The base including at least one gap between adjacent columns.

Multiple jaw vise and method of making the same

A rotary coupler for directing a fluid between a fluid supply and fixtures rotatable about a fixture axis and which has a manifold plate directing the fluid from a manifold inlet and a manifold outlet to the fixtures positioned about the fixture axis, the coupler including a spindle having a base portion and a shaft portion and the shaft portion defines a coupler axis and has a shaft surface generally coaxial to the coupler axis and the shaft surface includes an annular pressure zone and an axially spaced annular tank zone, the spindle also includes an internal pressurized fluid passage and an internal tank fluid passage wherein the pressurized passage extends within the spindle the coupler further includes a hub with a shaft opening shaped to receive the shaft portion, the manifold having control valves for selective actuation of the fixturing.

Rotary coupler and method of using same

A hoist ring assembly for mounting on a load member includes a bolt having a circumferential recess, a support member having a bolt passage for receiving the bolt, and a pin passage transverse to and intersecting the bolt passage. A load bearing ring has legs aligned with the pin passage, and one or two pins are inserted into the pin passage so as to interengage with the recess to hold the bolt and support member against separation and to support the load ring for pivotal movement relative movement relative to the support member and for pivotal movement with the support member relative to the bolt. In one arrangement the pin passage is offset from the bolt passage and a single pin extends through the support member and engages in the recess of the bolt. In another arrangement, the pin passage opens into the recess on diametrically opposite sides thereof, and a pair of pins have inner ends received in the recess.

Hoist ring

A hoist ring for fixed engagement, in a mounted position, in a threaded bore on a load surface of a load member includes a load bearing ring, a support member and a post. The support member has a cylindrical passage having a first axis and further includes a ring slot to pivotally support the load ring and allow the load ring to rotate about a second axis perpendicular to the first axis such that the load ring freely adjusts to the direction of an applied force. The post has an unthreaded portion in the passage and the passage and the ring slot intersect for the unthreaded, portion of the post to interengage with the load ring to retain the load ring in the ring slot when the post is received in the passage.

In a side-pull hoist ring having a load carrying ring, a clevis pivotally supporting the load carrying ring for rotation about a first axis and a post assembly extending through the clevis and fixedly engageable with a threaded bore on a load for allowing 360.degree. rotation of the clevis about a second axis generally perpendicular to the load. The post assembly includes a lower support bushing with a large diameter lower load bearing flange and a bolt receiving passageway coaxial with the second axis; a bolt extending through the passageway into the threaded bore of the load where the bolt has a head carrying an upper flange member coacting with the lower flange to capture the clevis and a shank. There is a first cylinder groove in the passageway and a second cylindrical groove around the shank. The grooves are axially aligned when the lower flange and the upper flange capture the clevis. An arcuate spring element having a collapsed shape generally retained in the second groove and a relaxed shape bottomed out in the first groove and extending between the first and second grooves prevents non-destructive axial removal of the bolt from the bushing. The clevis is formed from extruded steel, bar stock or a steel plate.

Side hoist clevis

A hoist device for fixed engagement to a threaded bore on an outer surface of a load member is provided. The hoist device comprises a load engaging stud with a force supporting head, a cylindrical body portion with a lower annular bearing shoulder and a threaded shank depending from the annular shoulder of the body portion. A base member having a body portion with a central passage through the base member and allowing a free swivel engagement of the base member with the load engaging stud is provided. The central passage of the base member, having an upper recess for capturing the force supporting head and an upper annular shoulder for transmitting a force from the base member to the supporting head when the base member is pulled from the load member is also provided. A hoist ring is secured between the support member and the base member while allowing the base member to swivel around the stud. A slot in one of the members captures the hoist ring while allowing the hoist ring to pivot in the slot. The stud includes a tool driving portion and a force supporting head, the tool driving portion includes the tool engaging portion and the stud and access openings in one of the members registered with the tool engaging portion when one of the members and the stud are in a given relative angular position. In such position, an elongated tool can be extended through the opening into the tool engaging portion to rotate the stud and members in unison until the lower shoulder engages the surface of the load member.

Hoist device

A hoist device designed to fixedly engage a threaded bore on the outer surface of a load number as a die. The hoist device includes a low engaging stud having a threaded shank depending from an annular shoulder of the body portion of the stud, a base member having a body portion which supports the low engaging stud and allows for a free swivel engagement of the base member with the stud when the stud is fixed to the load member, a hoist ring which is pivotly connected to the base member.
