Embodiments are directed toward a latch. The latch preferably has a housing that defines a receiver channel that is configured to receive a latchable member. The latch preferably has a catch that is transitionable between an open configuration and a closed configuration. In the open configuration, the catch is preferably configured to enable insertion and removal of the latchable member into and from the receiver channel. In the closed configuration, the catch is preferably configured to at least partially close the receiver channel and to prevent removal of the latchable member from the receiver channel.

Magnetically guided latch

Embodiments are directed to protecting an elevator. A plurality of knobs may be provided, each respective knob comprising a respective base having a vertical portion, a horizontal portion, a suspension portion, and a face that are coupled to each other. Each knob may also comprise a respective stem coupled to the face of the respective base. The knobs may be hung from an upper edge of a wall panel or suspended ceiling grid in an elevator. A cover may be provided, the cover having a plurality of openings in the cover disposed along the upper edge of the cover. The cover may be hung from the knobs with each knob having the distal end portion of the respective stem extending through a respective one of the openings in the cover.

Button hook pad hanger

An elevator cover assembly having a cover pad and a trim with openings for receiving a hanging knob inside the elevator is disclosed. The trim is a separate piece attached to the elevator cover after openings are made in the trim. The trim slits formed therein are sized and positioned to receive hanging knobs. The trim is made of a flexible material that can be deformed to broaden the openings to more easily position the openings over the knobs. A hanging knob can be a stud device attached to any wall for hanging a wall cover. The stud device comprises a mount attached to a wall, and a knob extending from the mount and extending outwardly from the wall. The knob is configured to receive an opening of the wall cover to hang the wall cover. A variety of such stud devices is provided.

Elevator cover assembly

An elevator cover assembly having a cover pad and a trim with openings for receiving a hanging knob inside the elevator is disclosed. The trim is a separate piece attached to the elevator cover after openings are made in the trim. The trim slits formed therein are sized and positioned to receive hanging knobs. The trim is made of a flexible material that can be deformed to broaden the openings to more easily position the openings over the knobs.

An expandable shoe includes an outer shell and an adjustable inner assembly within the outer shell. The inner assembly includes a first sole portion, a second sole portion, and a screw drive. The screw drive has a screw passing through a screw insert mounted to one of the first and second sole portions and a screw-receiving portion attached to the other of the first and second sole portions, so that turning the screw causes the sole portions to move relative to one another, thereby adjusting a dimension of the shoe. The shoe includes a manually operable control to turn the screw without the need for tools. The control is operable between a first position in which the control resists movement around an axis defined by the screw and a second position in which the control can be used to turn the screw to adjust a dimension of the footwear.

Expandable shoe having screw drive assemblies

A method of making an expandable shoe is disclosed. An intermediate footwear structure is provided having an expandable upper portion. A stabilizing material is provided to the intermediate structure to resist expansion of the upper portion, and a last is inserted into the intermediate structure. A subsequent manufacturing operation is performed to the intermediate structure, and the stabilizing material is acted upon to permit longitudinal movement of the upper portion. The size of the last is selected from among the sizes within the intended range of shoe sizes for the expandable shoe, depending on the characteristics of the upper portion of the shoe, and the desired shoe size range.

Method of making an expandable shoe

An improved expandable shoe and inner assembly are disclosed. The expandable shoe includes an outer shell and an adjustable inner assembly is disposed within the outer shell. The inner assembly has a first board portion and a second board portion in overlapping engagement with each other and a control to adjust the position of the first board portion relative to the second board portion. One of the board portions has a longitudinal projection which extends into a corresponding cavity in the sole of the shoe.

Expandable shoe and shoe assemblies

An improved expandable shoe and inner assembly are disclosed. The expandable shoe includes an outer shell and an adjustable inner assembly is disposed within the outer shell. The inner assembly has a first board portion and a second board portion in overlapping engagement with each other and a control to adjust the position of the first board portion relative to the second board portion. A lighted visualization window provides a visualization window to the inner assembly. The inner assembly may include size markings through the visualization window so that a size of the adjusted shoe may be determined as shoe size is adjusted.

An improved expandable shoe and inner assembly are disclosed. The expandable shoe includes an outer shell and an adjustable inner assembly is disposed within the outer shell. The inner assembly has a first board portion and a second board portion in overlapping engagement with each other and a control to adjust the position of the first board portion relative to the second board portion. The control includes a locking mechanism shaped to engage and hold one of the first and second board portions, a biasing mechanism to bias the locking mechanism into engagement with one of the first and second board portions; and an urging member having a proximal portion external of the shoe outer shell and positioned and movable transversely to a longitudinal direction of the shoe and in transverse alignment with the locking mechanism.

An expandable shoe includes an outer shell and an adjustable inner assembly disposed within the outer shell. The inner assembly has a control to adjust a dimension of the inner assembly and thereby a corresponding dimension of the shoe. A visualization window provides a view port to the inner assembly so that size markings on the inner assembly may be visible through the view port. The inner assembly includes first and second board portions, each shaped for relative movement with respect to the other, and a manually urgable member. When the urgable member is released from an engagement member fixed to one of the first and second board portions, the first and second board portions may be moved to adjust the shoe dimension and when the urgable member is in engagement with the fixed engagement member the first and second board portions resist movement relative to one another.

An expandable shoe and last board are disclosed. For the shoe, a front outer assembly and a rear outer assembly are attached to a flexible, expandable segment. An adjustable inner assembly has a manually urgable control to adjust a dimension of the inner assembly and thereby a corresponding dimension of the shoe. A visualization window may be used to provide a view port to the inner assembly to see the adjustment of a shoe dimension.

A method and device for hanging elevator pads. An elevator pad clamp is disclosed that includes a back plate having an attachment end for holding the back plate in relation to an elevator wall and having two wing segments extending away from a surface of the back plate. A clamp plate is hinged to the wing segments at a clamp axis, and a spring is hinged to the wing segments and positioned to bias the clamp plate in a first state. A lever portion is hinged to the wing segments at a lever axis. The lever portion has an urging member shaped to urge against a first surface of the clamp plate as the lever portion is rotated about the lever axis to cause the clamp plate to rotate about the clamp axis. The clamping device has two states. In an open state the clamp plate and the back plate define an open set of elevator-pad receiving jaws. The device may remain in the open state without depressing the lever. In a closed state, the jaws are closed and locked. The device may remain in the closed state without depressing the lever.
