A boring tool for use with compacted graphite iron materials includes at least one self-propelled rotating cutter insert. The insert is carried in a cartridge in which the insert is rotatable about is axis which is a secondary axis relative to a boring tool body in which the cartridge is mountable and which is rotatable about a primary axis. In the tool, the insert has its cutting point most distant from the tool axis that is the location at which axial and radial rake angles are defined to assure that the insert rotates during boring about its axis in the correct direction and at sufficient speed to assure cooling of the insert.

A telephone answering device for permitting a person to switch an incoming telephone call to a message recording or answering machine for taking or recording a message from a caller onto at least one cassette of the message recording or answering machine. This device includes a telephone instrument, at least one message recording or answering machine, and a person actuated switch. The person actuated switch has a first 'normal' position to permit a person to receive calls using the telephone instrument and a second position for permitting a person to switch the caller to the message recording or answering machine after the person has initially spoken to the caller.

Telephone answering device and method

A football shoe for use in preventing leg injuries is provided. This shoe includes a vertical portion preferably having eyelets for a shoelace, a sole having a lower surface and a heel portion, and a plurality of cleats. Each cleat having or using a break-away means for breaking the cleat away from the sole of the shoe such as by using either a break-away portion or an adhesive layer on the top portion of each cleat which is bonded to the sole's lower surface that is used to hold each cleat on the sole of the shoe. Both the adhesive layer and the break-away portion or piece have a preselected failure shear force the occurrence of which causes a separation of each cleat from the sole thereby avoiding leg injuries.
