A method of scaling font size on a user interface of a mobile communication device. The method comprises presenting a message in a first font size on a display of the mobile communication device, and after a predefined delay of time, presenting the message in a second font size on the display of the mobile communication device, where the second font size is larger than the first font size. The method further comprises receiving a selection of a font size and, based on the font size selection, determining and presenting an altered flow of screens and icons automatically in the user interface of the mobile communication device with the selected font size.

Automatically adapting accessibility features in a device user interface

A portable electronic device is provided. The portable electronic device comprises a processor, a memory, a display, and a first application stored in the memory that, when executed by the processor, receives indications of a plurality of events. The application also stores event information associated with the events in the memory, and when a user interface of a second application that is presented on the display is navigated away from, presents an announcement about one of the stored event information on the display.

Mobile device user interface notification management

A system and method for user interface screen presentation prioritization is provided. The display of a plurality of panes may be determined based on either priorities of each pane received in messages or based on combined weightings of each pane based on a weighting provided by a user and a weighting provided by a content source. The display of the panes may relocate the panes and/or change the size of the panes based on changed priorities of each pane or based on changed combined weighting of each pane. The panes may comprise selectable items.

The target device or its serving network may report a latency characteristic associated with the target device, such as an indication of the air interface protocol and/or slot cycle being used by the target device, and an initiating device or communication server may use the reported latency as a basis to decide whether to operate in (i) a normal setup mode when setting up a communication session with the target device or (ii) an optimistic setup mode when setting up a communication session with the target device.

A method, system, and media are provided for enhancing viewability of information presented on a mobile device. The media includes presenting a user interface on a mobile device that includes foreground information that overlaps a background image. The background image may be converted into a first set of color values and the foreground information into a second set of color values. A dominant color may be determined for the background image and foreground information. The dominant colors may be used to calculate a contrast ratio that may be compared to a threshold value. At least a portion of the color values may be modified when the contrast ratio is less than the threshold value. A set of modified color values may then be derived and a modified presentation may be presented to the user that includes the modified color values.

Enhancing viewability of information presented on a mobile device

Methods are disclosed for determining, based on a pass code inputted by a user, whether the user can access a particular feature of a mobile device. Features may include access to the device itself, products, services, applications, or the like. The mobile device requests access to the feature, and is sent display information for a plurality of icons, which indicates where each icon is to be displayed. An ordered selection of icons is received to determine whether the ordered selection matches a predetermined ordered selection. If they match, the user is allowed to access the feature of the mobile device.
