Dental cream in contact with a polyolefin resin surface of a package such as a laminate tube, a mechanical dispenser or a flexible sachet. The dental cream contains at least a major amount of dentally acceptable water-insoluble polishing material, alpha-alumina trihydrate, a liquid aqueous humectant vehicle wherein glycerine and sorbitol are humectants, a gelling agent and benzoic acid to reduce pH and prevent syneresis due to contact between the dental cream and the polyolefin resin.

Dental cream package

A package for a flowable material comprising, an elongated collapsible tube defining a chamber to receive the material, the tube having a tapered shoulder, with the shoulder having a generally central opening. The package has a separate insert comprising a hollow tubular section received in the opening, with the tubular section having an outer end portion located outside of the shoulder, and an inner end portion extending into the chamber a sufficient distance to prevent extrusion of the material in the region of the shoulder through the tubular section, and a device for sealingly engaging the shoulder around the opening.

The shoulder normally causes flavor loss of the material in the region of the chamber adjacent the shoulder. The package has an insert comprising a tubular section having an outer end connected to the neck, and an inner end extending into the chamber a sufficient distance to prevent extrusion of the material in the region of the shoulder through the neck.

Dental cream in contact with a polyolefin resin surface of a package such as a laminate tube, a mechanical dispenser or a flexible sachet. The dental cream contains a dentally acceptable water-insoluble alkaline earth metal salt, a liquid vehicle and an alkali metal carboxymethyl cellulose gelling agent. The liquid vehicle contains water, glycerine and sorbitol and, as an additive to prevent syneresis due to contact between the dental cream and polyolefin resin, a stabilizer in the form of parahydroxybenzoate ester.

The dental cream contains a dentally acceptable water-insoluble alkaline earth metal salt, a liquid vehicle and a gelling agent. The liquid vehicle contains water, glycerine and sorbitol and, as an additive to prevent syneresis due to contact between the dental cream and the polyolefin resin, propylene glycol which acts also as a preservative against bacterial contamination of the product.
