A taper sleeve for a conveyor roller used in a curved conveyor section has a taper wall with internal radial ribs which mate with the surface of a cylindrical roller core. The inner edges of the ribs preferably have an interference fit with the core surface.

A roller conveyor having motor driven rollers with electronic motor controls mounted on the conveyor side plates is subject to damage of the motor controls from arcing discharge of static electricity generated by articles traveling on the conveyor. The static electricity is dissipated by a conductive coating on the conveyor side plates and other conductive components of the conveyor.

The invention is embodied in a conveyor roller noise-isolator and wear-prevention system for mounting a conveyor roller to a conveyor system support frame. An apparatus is provided in which a conveyor roller axle is mounted to a conveyor side frame by a resilient bushing which serves to isolate the noise generated at the roller, prevent the noise generated at the interface between the axle and the frame, and prevent wear on the axle and the frame. The bushing achieves these goals by eliminating metal-to-metal contact at the mount interface and by having interference fits with the axle and with the frame to prevent relative motion.

A switch assembly consisting of a first surface for guiding a guide element in a first path, a second surface for guiding a guide element in a second path that crosses the first path, a first opening in the first guide surface for permitting passage therethrough of a guide element moving along the second surface in the second path, a second opening in the second guiding surface for permitting passage therethrough of the guide element moving along the first surface in the first path, a support for the first and second guiding surfaces, a cam actuator mounted for movement relative to the support between first and second positions, a switching wall mounted for movement relative to the support between a first position wherein it blocks the first opening and a second position wherein it blocks the second opening, cooperating structure on the cam actuator and switching wall for moving the wall from its first position to its second position as an incident of the cam actuator moving from its second position to its first position and for moving the switching wall from its second position to its first position as an incident of the cam actuator moving from its first position to it second position. The cam actuator is engagable by a guide element of predetermined size to cause movement of the cam actuator from its first position to its second position as an incident of the guide element moving the first path. The guide element engages the cam actuator to move the cam actuator from its second position to its first position as an incident of the guide element moving in the second path.

Conveyor cross switch

An improved conveyor system having elongate conveying tubes travelling in pairs in an endless path. The invention contemplates the provision of a slider in each of the tubes in the pair, interconnection of the sliders through a support and the provision of an article engaging pusher surface upon the support and situated above the tube pairs. The sliders are guided in slots extending lengthwise of the tube pairs and are shifted by an associated roller moving in a channel that is shaped depending on the desired shifting of the pushers.
