A brace assembly is configured for use with a longitudinal support of a firearm, such as a cylindrical bar or receiver extension. The assembly includes a brace body with a first or lower body member and a second or upper body member. The body members are configured to engage opposite surfaces of the longitudinal support. A brace portion can be attached to the brace body. In one example, a mounting post extends rearwardly from the brace body and the brace portion includes left and right brace members each having an upper end portion configured to attach to and pivot about the mounting post.

A charging handle assembly includes a body extending along a longitudinal axis and having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. A handle is connected to the proximal end portion of the body and is translatable along the body between a first position and a second position. A latch is connected to the handle or the body and is operable between a latched position and an unlatched position. Moving the handle from the first position to the second position moves the latch from the latched position to the unlatched position. Also disclosed is a charging handle assembly with a latch configured to engage a top of the lower receiver.

A handguard assembly system for a firearm is disclosed. The system includes a handguard with an elongate perforated structure extending between a first end and a second end, where the handguard defines a handguard connector on the first end. An interfacing connector attaches to the handguard connector when the handguard is installed on the firearm. When installed on the firearm, the handguard extends over the barrel without directly contacting the barrel, and attaches to the firearm via the interfacing connector and an upper receiver connector on the firearm upper receiver.

Handguard attachment system for a firearm

A handguard attachment assembly for a firearm is disclosed. The assembly includes a handguard with an elongate structure extending between a first end and a second end, where the handguard has at least one opening proximate the first end. A flange insert is received in an opening on a first side of the handguard and engages the handguard. A fastener secures the flange insert to a connector positioned over the barrel nut. The fastener can be tightened to draw the handguard to the barrel nut. The connector can be a bridge connector positioned on or over the barrel nut within the handguard, or can be a connector with a flange portion that engages the second side of the handguard and has a connector body that extends towards the flange insert on the first side, to name a few examples.

A muzzle flash suppressor is disclosed. In accordance with some embodiments, the disclosed flash suppressor includes a plurality of prongs having inner surfaces which taper along their length, providing angled expansion of the primary bore of the flash suppressor in the direction of projectile travel. The inner prong surfaces located along the gas flow path angle outwardly, a multi-radius surface is formed between each pair of neighboring prongs, and chamfers and radii are provided at the prong ends. Some embodiments provide for balanced and gradual gas expansion axially and/or radially along the projectile path, thereby allowing muzzle gases to expand/bleed off in a substantially laminar pattern. In some cases, this reduces secondary ignition of muzzle gases and the ambient air, thereby reducing muzzle flash. Also, some embodiments provide for easy clearance or correction of muzzle obstructions, thereby protecting against damage to the flash suppressor and host weapon.
