A suppressed pistol has a breech block and a slide mounted on a frame. The breech block and slide are separate pieces, movable relatively to one another and the frame. A link extends between the breech block and the frame. The link carries a cam and a cam follower. The cam follower on the link engages a cam on the frame, the cam on the link engages a cam follower on the slide. Action between the cams, cam followers and the link causes separation between the breech block and the slide during operation of the pistol. The suppressor includes a container having baffle plates with truncated cones defining openings offset from the geometric centers of the baffle plates.

A sound suppressor for a firearm includes a plurality of segments attached end to end to form a container having an entrance orifice and an exit orifices defining a firing axis. Baffles are positioned in some of the segments. The baffles have a plate from which a truncated cone projects. The cone defines an opening aligned with the firing axis. The opening is offset from the geometric center of the plates.

A noise suppressor system for attachment to a firearm including a barrel having a longitudinal axis. The noise suppressor system including the combination of: a flash suppressor adapted to be attached to the muzzle of the barrel coaxially therewith, a noise suppressor including a proximal mount assembly having a bore for coaxially receiving the flash suppressor, and a means for selectively coupling the noise suppressor system to the firearm.

A sound suppressor for a firearm, such as a shotgun, may include a rear end cap, a plurality of baffle units and a front end cap that are configured to be assembled in an end-to-end arrangement. These elements may be secured to one another with one or more elongated coupling elements that extend through the end-to-end arrangement, along with one or more complementary securing elements. Such a sound suppressor may lack an outer housing. A plurality of guide rods may extend through an interior of such a sound suppressor in a manner that provides the framework for a passage for a projectile as it moves through the sound suppressor. A barrel coupling element that may be used with a sound suppressor is also disclosed, as are methods for tailoring the length of a sound suppressor and for customizing the types and arrangement of baffles used in the sound suppressor.
