A method and arrangement are provided for controlling electric current in a tether cable of an electrically driven mining vehicle. An indicator of an equivalent cycle current that flows through said tether cable is determined, and one or more descriptors of an actual state of dynamically changing conditions of the tether cable are obtained. A current limiting value is determined on the basis of the indicator and the descriptors, and a total amount of current is limited that the mining vehicle draws through the tether cable to a value smaller than or equal to the determined current limiting value.

Method and arrangement for controlling electric current in tether cable of mining vehicle

A hydraulic system, working vehicle, and method for producing hydraulic power to a hydraulic system of a working vehicle is provided. The hydraulic system includes a fixed displacement hydraulic pump and a speed and torque controlled electric motor for driving the hydraulic pump. An electric controller is arranged to adjust the speed of the electric motor and to thereby adjust produced hydraulic fluid flow and pressure in the system. Further, there is a bypass flow channel including a throttle element for directing limited continuous discharge fluid flow from the system.

A hydraulic system, rock drilling rig, and method for limiting the output performance of a hydraulic drilling actuator temporarily under execution of a safety function feature of the hydraulic system. The output performance is limited by limiting produced hydraulic fluid flow in a hydraulic circuit of the hydraulic drilling actuator, whereby a restricted magnitude of the fluid flow is produced at a hydraulic pump. This way a restricted operation mode is enabled and is controlled by a control unit.

A method for determining the state of health of a battery by monitoring charging of the battery over multiple charging instances is provided. The method is implemented within charging stations by: recognizing the battery via a unique identifier; charging the battery; monitoring conditions of the battery during charging; storing data related to the current charging instance based at least partially on the monitored conditions; retrieving data related to at least one earlier charging instance of the uniquely identified battery; and making a determination of the uniquely identified battery's state of health based at least partially on a comparison of the data related to the current charging instance and the retrieved data related to at least one earlier charging instance.

Online battery state of health estimation during charging

For starting an AC electric motor of a mining vehicle, it is first accelerated to a first speed with a second AC voltage provided by an onboard battery-powered inverter of the mining vehicle. A phase of a first AC voltage taken from an external grid is compared to a phase of said second AC voltage. If the phase difference between the first and second AC voltages is larger than a predetermined limit, the speed at which said inverter rotates said AC electric motor is changed. If the difference between the phases of the first and second AC voltages is smaller than the predetermined limit, a change is made from rotating the AC electric motor with the second AC voltage to rotating the AC electric motor with the first AC voltage.

Mining vehicle and method for starting an AC electric motor of a mining vehicle

A mining vehicle and a method for an energy supply of the mining vehicle is disclosed. The mining vehicle includes at least one mining work device, at least one AC electric motor for powering the at least one mining work device, and an auxiliary energy source. The mining vehicle further includes a power electronics device that is used for supplying reactive current and for charging or discharging the auxiliary energy source. The amount of the reactive current supplied by the power electronics device and the amount of the effective charging current for charging or discharging the auxiliary energy source are controlled such that the maximum value for the current of the supply cable and the maximum value for the current of the power electronics device are not exceeded.
