An apparatus comprising: a controller configured to: receive one or more sensed signals from one or more wearable sensors, wherein a wearable sensor is for sensing a user's body and outputting a sensed signal dependent upon one or more biological processes of the user; process the one or more sensed signals and detect one or more bio signals that are determined by the one or more biological processes of the user; and process the one or more sensed signals to detect a user input signal indicative of: the user touching the user's body, and/or the user touching at least one of the wearable sensors, and/or relative movement of at least one of the wearable sensors relative to the user's body, and process the user input signal to identify a user input command.

Wearable sensors

Provided are adaptive wearable devices that measure physiological conditions, methods of operating the device, and computer programs for use with the device. The adaptive wearable device provides improved reliability in data due to the adaptive structure and can be made waterproof with the incorporation of a polymer material. In the context of a wearable device, an apparatus is provided that includes a support structure configured to at least partially enclose the torso or an appendage of a user, a spring module disposed on the support structure, a first section of flexible circuitry disposed on the spring module and a first sensor disposed on the spring module and configured to monitor the user.

A sensor is supported by the sensor platform. The sensor produces sensor signals corresponding to a property of the skin or underlying matter. The position of the sensor platform is adjusted by an actuator with relation to the skin.

Method and apparatus for contacting skin with sensor equipment

A method of fabricating the body of the portable electronic device as well as the resulting portable electronic device and its body are provided to facilitate the transmission of radio frequency signals through the body of the portable electronic device. In the context of a method, at least one aperture and, in some instances, a plurality of apertures are defined by laser perforation through a conductive portion of the body of the portable electronic device. The method may also anodize the conductive portion including at least partially filling the at least one aperture with an anodization layer. As such, the conductive portion of the body of the portable electronic device has a relatively consistent, metallic appearance, even though laser perforation apertures are defined therein for supporting the transmission of radio frequency signals.

A method of fabricating at least a portion of the body of an apparatus, such as a portable electronic device, that includes both plastic and conductive parts is provided with the body appearing relatively seamless such that the interface between the plastic and conductive parts is indistinguishable. In this regard, a plastic part may be combined with a conductive part to form at least a portion of the body of the portable electronic device. The surfaces of the plastic part and the conductive part may be metallized, such as by being subjected to vapor deposition, to metalize the surfaces of the plastic and conductive parts. The metalized surfaces of the plastic and conductive parts may then be anodized, thereby producing at least a portion of the body of a portable electronic device having plastic and conductive parts with a consistent appearance and a consistent tactile response.

In regards to a method, a glass or plastic tube is provided that has a maskant positioned upon an interior region of the tube to define a window. The method also includes coating an interior surface of the tube with a tinted anti-splinter material having a dye or pigment mixed therein. The method also includes curing the tinted anti-splinter material and removing the maskant such that the interior region is free of the tinted anti-splinter material. A tube-shaped part is also provided that includes a glass or plastic tube and a maskant positioned upon an interior region of the tube to define a window. The tube-shaped part also includes a tinted anti-splinter material having a dye or pigment mixed therein.

An electronic device comprises electronic circuitry and a molded plastic covering (). In order to prevent ingress of water and dust, a hermetic seal is provided between the covering () and components that are accessible through the covering (), such as a socket () or display, or components such as electrical connections (). The components () are at least partially coated in a coating material, such as a thermally activated polyurethane adhesive or thin thermoplastic, to provide a strong bond to the covering () that does not require the use of solder.
