The subject application is directed to a system and method for on-demand generation of a selectable input for enacting a previous document processing device control sequence. User identification data is received, and a document processing session is opened. A sequence of instructions is then received, and data associated with the sequence is logged according to identification data. After the session opening, logged data is stored in associated memory. Data of a request to generate a selectable input corresponding to the logged data is then received, and testing is performed to determine whether data has been logged in a current session. Data logged during the session is associated with the selectable input, and stored data is retrieved and associated with the selectable input when no data has been logged during the current session. The sequence of selected instructions is then commenced upon the selection of the selectable input by the user.

A system and method for data service management of electronic files. A user selects the file or files to be stored on a remote storage device. The user is also able to selectively scan to archive, or storage, a document or other data. The user then selects the appropriate payment option. The user is presented with the total cost of the service, and upon acceptance, the selected service is performed. The details of the transaction are archived and the user is billed for the service. The fees charged are based on the number of pages of the document, file, or other data stored. The fees are charged at the commencement of the services, rather than each day. The fees are also based on the location form which the services are accessed based on selected criteria of such location. Renewal of the storage duration includes fees are those fees charged when the document, file, or other data was first stored.

System and method for managing and charging for data storage devices

This invention is directed to a document processing system and method. The method begins with a user logging onto a document processing system, inputs identification data, and selects one or more documents for document processing by the document processing system. The selected document is then uploaded to the document processing system, which renders the document to determine the number of pages and other document relevant information. The user then selects one of the available service locations. The cost associated with the requested document processing operation is then calculated and displayed to the user, along with available payment options. Once the user has selected the desired payment method, the document, with selected options and preferences, is transmitted to the selected service location for output on a document processing device thereon. The received request is stored in queue until such time as the user releases the request for further processing. When the request is resident in the queue for greater than a predetermined time, it is deleted automatically. To release the queued document for further processing, the user is required to log onto the document processing device, select the document from a list corresponding to the user, and verify payment. The requested document processing operation is then performed.

System and method for holding and deleting requests in a job queue

The present invention is directed to a system and method for the assisted entry of database schema entries. Schema input data is first received from an associated user and tested for acceptability. When the schema input data is unacceptable following the testing, the associated user is then prompted for corrected schema input data. The presence of software tools required to implement the schema instructions specified by the schema input data is then tested and a signal is generated when such required software is absent. A representation of the complete schema is then generated, including the schema input data, and the associated user is prompted to confirm the acceptability of the complete schema setup. The associated user then confirms the acceptability of the complete schema setup and the schema input data is then communicated, following user confirmation, to an associated database server for implementation.

System and method for assisted entry of database schema data

The subject application is directed to a system and method for customizing a document processor interface. A user successfully logs onto a document processing device and selects to generate a customized graphical user-interface. When the user has previously created such an interface, the device retrieves stored selection data associated with the user and uses such data to selectively generate a customized interface. To create the customized interface, the user first selects desired functions to be displayed. The selected functions are then stored in association with user identification information by the device. A tangible output document is capable of being generated inclusive of encoded indicia representing selection data and user identification information. Subsequent scanning of the tangible output document by the device, or another document processing device, enables the scanning device to authenticate the user and generate a customized interface in accordance with the selection data contained in the encoded indicia.

System and method for customizing user interfaces on a document processing device

A system and method for managing and retrieving electronic documents in a document management system. Multiple virtual record containers are contained in a document management system, with each container associated with a corresponding record locator. Each record locator is a unique identifier, and is in turn associated with one or more items, such as files, folders, documents, groups of folders, or images. Each of these items are associated with one or more record locators, allowing them to be stored in the corresponding record container. A user is able to download all associated items of the a record container to a desktop, irrespective of the drive or directory in which each of those items reside.
