Apparatuses and methods for positioning a flexible hose into a wellbore with a protective housing are disclosed. A flexible hose is contained within a protective housing and both are positioned into a wellbore to a desired depth. Pressure can be applied to an interior of the protective housing, and a packoff seals between the flexible hose and the protective housing, causing the pressure to eject the hose from the protective housing.

Systems and methods for performing a radial drilling operation using a shaft are disclosed. The shaft can be flexible and can be made of a series of links, each of which can have a hexagonal or other suitable shape to impart a torque along the linkage. A cable system can be run through the middle of the links and can be resiliently tensioned to permit a different degree of flexure according to the amount of tension in the cable and resilient member. Accordingly, the shaft can be rigid, selectively permitted to flex, or can be brought back to a straight or at least a less-bent position.

An apparatus or system comprising, or a method utilizing, a pressure-tight head assembly coupling a multi-conductor wireline cable operable for downhole operations within a borehole extending into a subterranean formation. The head assembly comprises: an upper head attachment; a lower head attachment; an upper compression seal assembly; a gripper cone; and a rope socket. The upper compression seal assembly is threaded into and/or otherwise coupled to the upper head attachment in a manner causing the gripper cone to tighten onto the cable jacket.
