A surgical table includes a sagittal adjustment device for manipulating the position of a patient. The surgical table includes a base portion including an upper surface for spacing the sagittal adjustment device from the ground. The sagittal adjustment device includes a first support portion and a second support portion. The first and second support portions are supported by and moveable over the upper surface of the base portion. The first and second support portions each include an upper surface configured to support portions of the body of the patient thereon. One of the first and second support portions is pivotally attached to the base portion, and moveable between a first position and a second position. The pivotal movement between the first and second positions of the one of the first and second portions serves in repositioning the body of patient to manipulate the spine of the patient.

Surgical table and method for use thereof

A surgical tool for removing a portion of an implant is provided that includes a housing, a motor contained within the housing and coupled to the housing, and an output shaft having a distal end and a proximal end opposite the distal end, wherein the proximal end is coupled to the motor and the distal end has an opening configured to rotateably engage an implant. The surgical tool further includes a counter-torque sleeve extending around the output shaft having a proximal end and a distal end opposite the proximal end, wherein the proximal end is coupled to the housing and the distal end is configured to couple to the implant relative to the counter-torque sleeve. Upon a rotational force to the implant, the forces transmitted by the output shaft and the counter-torque sleeve are balanced by the coupling of the output shaft and counter-torque sleeve through the housing.

Surgical tool

A surgical tool for removing a portion of an implant is provided that includes a housing, a motor contained within the housing and coupled to the housing, and an output shaft having a distal end and a proximal end opposite the distal end, wherein the proximal end is coupled to the motor and the distal end has an opening configured to rotatably engage an implant. The surgical tool further includes a counter-torque sleeve extending around the output shaft having a proximal end and a distal end opposite the proximal end, wherein the proximal end is coupled to the housing and the distal end is configured to couple to the implant relative to the counter-torque sleeve. Upon a rotational force to the implant, the forces transmitted by the output shaft and the counter-torque sleeve are balanced by the coupling of the output shaft and counter-torque sleeve through the housing.

A spinal implant includes a link having a first surface and a second surface connectable with a spinal construct. The spinal construct is attachable with one or more vertebral levels. A plurality of electrodes includes at least one electrode disposed with the first surface and at least one electrode disposed with the second surface such that the electrodes conduct an electric current to stimulate tissue growth adjacent the spinal construct. Systems, surgical instruments and methods are disclosed.

Spinal implant system and method

A simulation device and method for using same are provided for simulating a position of a replica human spine due to different pathologies and different surgical positions. The simulation device includes a carrier portion rotatably attached to a base portion. The carrier portion supports a first adjuster, a second adjuster, and a third adjuster for supporting various portions of the replica human spine. The carrier portion and the first, second, third supports affording adjustment of the position of the replica human spine.

Simulation device and method for using same

An implant assembly and a method of assembling the same are provided, the implant assembly including a receiver extending along a central longitudinal axis between a proximal end and an opposite distal end, the receiver including a distal portion defining a receptacle opening at the distal end and a pair of arms extending from the distal portion along the central longitudinal axis on opposite sides of a passage with the passage opening at opposite sides of the receiver, a bone anchor including a distal bone engaging portion and a head at a proximal end of the distal bone engaging portion, the head being positioned in the receptacle with the bone engaging portion in a selected orientation relative to the central longitudinal axis of the receiver and a connector member configured to form a rigid interface between the receiver and the head of the bone anchor thereby providing torque transfer throughout the implant assembly.

A tool for use during surgery includes a housing including a distal end and a proximal end, a motor disposed within the housing, and an output shaft having a proximal end connected to the motor and a distal end extending from the distal end of the housing. The tool further includes a battery pack contained within the housing, and a passage extending from the distal end to the proximal end of the housing through the output shaft and the battery pack, wherein the passage is defined by an interior surface of the output shaft and a channel through the battery.

A surgical tool includes a drive assembly including a head assembly and a cutting assembly coupled to the drive assembly. The cutting assembly includes a first blade having a first cutting surface and a first contact surface. The cutting assembly also includes a second blade pivotally coupled to the first blade. The second blade has a second cutting surface and a second contact surface. The first and second contact surfaces define a constant travel ratio.

Surgical prosthetic device cutting tool

A connecting device is provided for use in orthopedic surgery, for example to connect a spinal rod and a vertebral screw or hook. The connector generally includes a receiver member for receiving an elongated member, and a grommet member for receiving a bone fixation member. The grommet member is inserted into the receiver member so that the receiver member and grommet member are rotatably connected. One or more disks may be placed between the receiver member and grommet member to assist in locking the device.

System and methods are provided that include a plate member engageable to the spinal column with an anchor assembly. The anchor assembly includes a coupling member having a post extending through at least one opening of the plate member and an anchor member pivotally captured in a receiver member of the coupling member below a lower surface of the plate member. A locking member secures the plate member to the coupling member.

Spinal implants with multi-axial anchor assembly and methods

An implant for insertion between vertebral members in which an inner member, intermediate member, and outer member are concentrically disposed. The inner and outer members may comprise end plates to contact the vertebral members. The outer member may include a tapered interior wall. A locking element is movably contained within an opening that extends through a sidewall of the intermediate member. The intermediate member is displaceable longitudinally in first and second directions relative to the outer member. Displacement of the intermediate member in the first direction tends to force the locking element laterally into contact with the inner and outer members. A biasing member may urge the intermediate member in the first direction. Displacement of the intermediate member in the second direction allows the locking element to be laterally displaced out of contact with the inner member.

Expandable vertebral implant and methods of use

A bone screw comprising a threaded shank having a longitudinal axis and including a first helical threading extending along a first length of the threaded shank portion and a second helical threading extending from a location proximately adjacent the first helical threading and along a second length of the threaded shank portion. The first helical threading defines a first volume between adjacent thread turns along the first length, and the second helical threading defines a second volume between adjacent thread turns along the second length, with the first volume being different from the second volume.
