A blower unit which, in one embodiment, includes an elongate main mounting member, a stator, a fan subassembly, and a blower housing, is described. In the one embodiment, the elongate main mounting member is the main structural member of the unit. The stator includes a stator core and stator windings, and the stator is secured to the main mounting member. The fan subassembly includes a rotor and a plurality of vanes. The rotor includes a substantially cylindrical iron ring and a magnetic portion having a substantially cylindrical shape. The magnetic portion is secured within the inner diameter of the iron ring and defines a rotor bore. The stator is located in the rotor bore and is concentric with respect to the rotor. The rotor is coupled to the plurality of vanes so that the vanes rotate with the rotor. The fan subassembly also includes bearing assemblies which are spring biased toward, and into rotatable engagement with, the elongate main mounting member. The fan assembly further includes a shroud for partially enclosing the plurality of vanes.

Integrated motor and blower apparatus

Integrated motor and blower apparatus having two back-to-back coupled

An assembly for producing wet compression of gas being compressed in a centrifugal-type, multistage gas compressor having an impeller, a diffuser 'downstream' of the impeller, and a cross-over channel connected to the downstream end of the diffuser includes a plurality of liquid jets for injecting a vaporizable liquid such as water into a gas stream undergoing compression. The liquid jets are positioned axisymmetrically about the longitudinal axis of the compressor shaft and are adapted to inject liquid into the diffuser substantially upstream of the cross-over channel, and, in a preferred embodiment, have a radial spacing from such axis of about 1.05 to 1.1 times the maximum radius of the compressor impeller. The invention attains a marked increase in vaporization of the injected liquid, providing better compressor performance and reduced wear of compressor internal parts.

Turning, or pre-swirl, vanes are housed in stationary walled annular passages located in juxtaposition with coolant gas supply slots through which coolant gas, usually air, enters the rotor structure of a rotor rim-ventilated generator. Coolant gas flow admitted through the annular passages is turned in the direction of the rotor rotation and provided with an initial tangential velocity by the turning vanes.
