A system includes a gas turbine system having a compressor, a combustor, and a turbine. The system further includes a power management system configured to supply an injection fluid into a host fluid of the gas turbine system to manage power production of the gas turbine system, wherein the injection fluid comprises a gas mixture comprising oxygen. The system further includes a model-based controller configured to control operation of the gas turbine system, wherein the model-based controller has one or more models including consideration of the injection fluid supplied by the power management system into the host fluid.

A system includes a gas turbine system including a compressor, a combustor, a turbine, and an exhaust section. The system also includes multiple sensors coupled to components of the gas turbine system. The system further includes a controller communicatively coupled to the gas turbine system and the multiple sensors and configured to control operations of the gas turbine system, wherein the controller is configured to calculate a surrogate value for turbine exit Mach number based on the feedback from the multiple sensors and to utilize the surrogate value to derive a control action for the gas turbine system.

A system includes a gas turbine system including a compressor, a combustor, and a turbine. The system also includes a controller communicatively coupled to the gas turbine system and configured to control operations of the gas turbine system. The system further includes a life consumption model configured to determine an operating life of the gas turbine system based on both a health status of one or more components of the gas turbine system and operating conditions of the gas turbine system. The controller is configured to utilize at least the life consumption model to derive a control action for the gas turbine system.

Systems and methods for control of operating life of a gas turbine

The subject application involves a method of controlling operation of a gas turbine. The method includes determining a first temperature associated with a portion of the gas turbine during operation of said gas turbine, and sensing an operational parameter of the gas turbine during operation of the gas turbine. An ambient pressure in an ambient environment of the gas turbine is also sensed, and the operational parameter corrected using the ambient pressure sensed in the ambient environment of the gas turbine to establish a corrected operational parameter. A threshold temperature is determined based at least in part on the corrected operational parameter, and a backup routine is initiated to limit operation of the gas turbine when the temperature associated with the gas turbine is greater than or equal to the threshold temperature.

Corrected megawatt backup curve methodology

A method is disclosed for providing a real time, radial exhaust temperature distribution in a gas turbine to improve the understanding of exhaust gas temperature in a manner similar to installing production rakes. The thermocouples are installed along the exhaust frame strut skins at a number of radial positions. The data from the thermocouples along each of the struts is used to produce a normalized radial profile of the turbine exhaust temperature. The existing turbine station instrumentation is then used to expand the normalized profile into an actual profile of the turbine exhaust temperature. The calculations/transfer functions for temperatures are obtained from data collected during performance testing with full rakes. This profile is integrated to determine a bulk Tx to improve gas turbine controls including model-based controls or corrected parameter controls (MBC/CPC) controls, or specific radial temperatures are used, to provide protective action for bucket platforms, or other turbine components.

Exhaust strut radial temperature measurement

A turbine engine includes a turbine, a compressor for compressing air and a combustor for receiving the compressed air through an inlet passage and operable to burn fuel therewith to deliver hot exhaust gas to the turbine. Also included is a wheel space defined proximate to the combustor. Further included is a cooling air passage extending between the compressor and the wheel space. Yet further included is a valve assembly having a valve member disposed in the cooling air passage and operable to admit a cooling air to the wheel space in response to a condition therein.
