Air treatment appliance

An air treatment appliance is provided which includes an appliance housing and a removable cartridge received therein. The removable cartridge contains a liquid compound to be aerosolized and has a cartridge outlet through which the aerosolized compound is discharged during operation. A pump is provided to supply air to the removable cartridge to generate the aerosolized compound from the liquid compound contained in the removable cartridge, and a controller is provided for controlling the pump to supply the air to the removable cartridge to generate and discharge the aerosolized compound from the appliance. In some instances, the appliance housing includes a base, a cover, and an inner sub-housing coupled to the base to collectively define a passageway with an air outlet positioned to discharge a flow of air across a path of the aerosolized compound discharged from the cartridge outlet during operation.

A method that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting movement of a cover of the device with respect to a body of the device, and determining, in response to detecting movement of the cover, that the device is ready for use. If the device is ready for use, a signal is transmitted to a computing device, and the computing device is directed to perform an initializing procedure for a gaming engine executing on the computing device. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

A portable navigation device () with an ergonomic user interface is described. It includes: a housing (); a controller () coupled to the housing (), the controller () configured to control the operations of a portable navigation device; memory (), coupled to the controller (), being operable to store a route; an integrated global positioning system (GPS) receiver () in the housing (), coupled to the controller (); a display () within the housing () and coupled to the controller (), the display () viewable from a front () of the housing (); and a paddle control module () coupled to a rear portion () of the housing (), configured to control certain operations of the device. The ergonomic design allows a user ease of access, to operate a portable navigation device accurately, intuitively and with minimal distraction, during operation. This structure provides an enhanced user experience.
