A computer-implemented method of providing georeferenced information regarding a location of capture of an image is provided. The method includes receiving a first image at an image-based georeferencing system, the first image comprising digital image information and identifying a cataloged second image that correlates to the first image. The method further includes automatically determining reference features common to both the second image and the first image, accessing geographic location information related to the common reference features, utilizing the geographic location information related to the common features to determine a georeferenced location of capture of the first image and providing the georeferenced location of capture for access by a user of the image-based georeferencing system.

Image-based georeferencing

An image-based georeferencing system comprises an image receiver, an image identification processor, a reference feature determiner, and a feature locator. The image receiver is configured for receiving a first image for use in georeferencing. The image comprises digital image information. The system includes a communicative coupling to a georeferenced images database of images. The image identification processor is configured for identifying a second image from the georeferenced images database that correlates to the first image. The system includes a communicative coupling to a geographic location information system. The reference feature determiner is configured for determining a reference feature common to both the second image and the first image. The feature locator is configured for accessing the geographic information system to identify and obtain geographic location information related to the common reference feature.

A method and apparatus for geofencing mobile transmissions. The method includes determining a geographic location of a mobile transmitter. Then, a geographic interference contour of the mobile transmitter is determined. The mobile transmitter is operating over a specific frequency at the geographic location. A neighboring service contour is then determined. The neighboring service contour is associated with an FCC license that allows transmissions over a specific channel that includes the specific frequency. The interference geographic contour and the service contour are compared to determine if there is overlapping. Thereafter, transmissions from the mobile transmitter are controlled in order to comply with FCC regulations.

Method and apparatus for GPS geofencing of mobile transmissions

A method and system for communication in a real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning system by paging. An RTK positioning system having a reference station and a rover utilizes a paging system for data transfer. A single satellite positioning system (SATPS) reference station may be coupled to the paging system to provide RTK correction data, or multiple networked reference stations may be coupled to the paging system to provide data. Paging systems using allocated paging bands having fixed width channels (e.g. 20 kHz) such as those between 35 MHz and 36 MHz or 43 MHz and 44 MHz may be used.

Method and system for transmission of real-time kinematic satellite positioning system data

A method of generating a noise estimate during seismic surveying, including measuring noise energy having a plurality of frequencies in a second time interval. The second time interval having a second start time delayed from a first start time of a first time interval during which a first plurality of reflected seismic signals are present. The plurality of reflected seismic signals having the plurality of frequencies. The second time interval approximately concurrent with the first time interval to measure one of the plurality of frequencies of the noise energy different than one of the plurality of frequencies of the first plurality of reflected seismic signals that are present. A noise estimate is generated based on the noise energy measured.

Noise estimator for seismic exploration

A method and apparatus for testing components is disclosed. The method involves a system operating to collect data in a certain frequency range, and utilizing signals outside that frequency range to test the system during operation. Such testing may be conducted on a not-to-interfere basis, thereby allowing for testing during operation of systems in continuous use.

Method and apparatus for testing components

A position identification system, that employs satellite navigational or similar positioning technology is provided. In one embodiment, the position identification system includes a receiver for receiving position signals from a positioning system; an orientation device that is configured to rotate about at least one axis; a pointing element coupled to the orientation device to provide indication of a direction to a desired position; and a processor that is coupled to the receiver to receive the position signals. The processor computes a current position of the position identification system based upon the position signals. The processor directs the orientation device, based upon the current position and the desired position, with the pointing device tracking the direction to the desired position as the current position changes. Using the positioning system, a pointing device is used to identify the direction to the desired location to the user of the positioning system. The positioning system receives a first position corresponding to the desired location. A second position is determined corresponding to the device's current location. Then the pointing element is oriented such that the pointing element is substantially aligned with the first position indicating the direction to the desired. The position signals are updated so that, if the device's current position changes, the pointing device will track the direction to the desired position.

Method and apparatus for navigation guidance

A system for differential navigation of an autonomous vehicle in the location with the limited visibility of the sky is disclosed. The system employs a plurality of satellites, a plurality of ground transmitters, and a base station. Different configurations for the minimum number of the satellites and the minimum number of ground transmitters are disclosed.

Network of equivalent ground transmitters

A wireless seismic survey system is structured as a hierarchy of cell network layers, each higher level cell network layer covering a bigger area than a lower level cell network layer and receiving data from the lower level cell network layer. This hierarchical structure functions to concentrate collected data to a level that can be communicated to a central collection point, either through wireless, cable or other media. By defining cells to cover predetermined areas, transmission frequencies and/or transmission time slots or codes can be reused by cells sufficiently spaced apart to avoid co-channel interference, thereby increasing the amount of usable bandwidth.

Seismic survey system

The present invention is a method and apparatus for establishing a common datum georeferenced position of the phase centers of the antennas used by a system. The system includes a GPS receiver and an auxiliary transmitter. An auxiliary antenna of the auxiliary transmitter is co-located with a GPS antenna of the GPS receiver. The auxiliary antenna is at a known spatial relationship with the GPS antenna. An auxiliary position of the auxiliary antenna is determined based on the known spatial relationship.

Geo-referencing radio position determination systems using co-located antennas

The present invention involves a system and method for determining a position of an object. The system comprises at least one ground transmitter configured to generate ground transmitter position signals comprising position information. The at least one ground transmitter has a known position. The system also comprises at least one ground transceiver having a known position and configured to receive the ground transmitter position signals and transmit ground transceiver position signals that are synchronized to the clock of the at least one ground transmitter. The object is configured to receive the ground transmitter position signals, the ground transceiver position signals and calculate the position of the object based on the received signals and the known positions of the at least one ground transmitter and the at least one ground transceiver.
