Cotton plants may be rendered male sterile while retaining substantial female fertility by contracting the plants with a gametocidally effective amount of a novel compound which has the formula: ##STR1## where X is oxygen, sulfur, or ##STR2## and where R is a substituted and unsubstituted aryl, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy and alkene group, and maintaining the effective amount for a sufficient time to form sterile plant flowers that can then be pollinated by a second variety cotton plant to provide cotton having hybrid cotton seeds.

A multi weighted spring driven lure attachment device consisting of resilient member bent in 3 sections. A lure bearing arm to which the line and hook are attached. Vertical and lower arms to which weights are attached. When used with a mechanical jigging device cause the lures to swim in a circle resembling wounded prey.

Novel insecticides are disclosed having improved persistency. Association of certain type B gelatins with microencapsulated insecticides especially those employing polyamide polyurea subunits in the microcapsule walls, yields such persistency. According to a preferred embodiment, PENNCAP M, which is Pennwalt Corporation's trademark for its microencapsulated methyl parathion, is admixed with type B gelatin having average molecular weights between about 15,000 and 30,000 in a sprayable, aqueous, formulation. This formulation protects, for example, crops from insect attack for a longer period than does unmodified PENNCAP M formulations.
