A cooling system for cooling a set of components in a compute module and an array of storage devices in a storage module, the array of storage devices comprising rows and columns. The storage module is wider than the compute module to accommodate a larger backplane. The backplane has large vertical vent openings for accommodating connectors of storage devices connecting to the backplane. Pairs of divider walls positioned between adjacent columns of storage devices form large channels for increased airflow between columns of storage devices and reduced airflow between adjacent rows of storage devices. The design allows for increased cooling performance and reduced acoustic energy (noise).

An externally mounted internal component retention device includes a base. A first chassis securing member extends from the base. The first chassis securing member is configured to engage a chassis to resist movement of the base relative to the chassis when the base is positioned immediately adjacent to an external mount surface on the chassis. A first internal component engagement member also extends from the base. The first internal component engagement member is configured to extend through an engagement member chassis aperture defined by the chassis and engage an internal component that is housed in the chassis to resist movement of the internal component relative to the chassis when the base is positioned immediately adjacent the external mount surface on the chassis.

Externally mounted internal component retention system

A printing device securing apparatus includes a printing device having a first securing member operable to couple to an external locking device. An input tray includes a second securing member operable to couple to an external locking device, wherein the input tray is operable to couple to the printing device such that the first securing member is adjacent the second securing member. With the input tray coupled to the printing device, an external locking device may be coupled to the first securing member and the second securing member in order to secure the printing device and the input tray if security is an issue.

Method and apparatus for securing a printing device

A computer with an accessible storage medium drive assembly is provided. The computer comprises a chassis, a cradle and an accessible storage medium drive assembly. The cradle, having a first aligning member, is disposed on the chassis. The storage medium drive assembly comprises a carrier, a cable assembly and a storage medium drive. The storage medium drive, disposed on the carrier, is provided with plural first connectors. The cable assembly comprises a backer board, plural second connectors and a second aligning member corresponding to the first aligning member. The backer board is disposed on the carrier, and the second aligning member is disposed on the backer board. The second connector, corresponding to the first connector, is disposed on the backer board. The storage medium drive connects to the cable assembly by the engagement between the first connector and the second connector. The storage medium drive assembly is detachably disposed on the cradle by the engagement between the first aligning member and the second aligning member.

Computer with an accessible storage medium drive assembly

A front input/output module is provided. The front input/output module, as disclosed in this invention, is adapted to a computer, provided with a chassis and a motherboard. The front input/output module comprises a tray, a printed circuit board and at least one interface device. The tray is detachably disposed inside the chassis. The printed circuit board is disposed on the tray and electrically connected with the motherboard. The interface device, having a connector, is disposed on the tray and electrically connected with the printed circuit board. The connector is exposed when the tray is disposed inside the chassis.

Front input/output module

An apparatus for retaining peripheral devices is provided. The peripheral device is provided with a plurality of mounting holes, and the retaining apparatus comprises a chassis and a plurality of retaining members. The chassis is provided with a plurality of locking members. The retaining members, having at least one protrusion and at least one retention tab, are disposed on the chassis so that the protrusion detachably engages with the locking member and the retention tabs insert into the mounting holes when the device is disposed inside the chassis.

Apparatus for retaining peripheral device

A computer with a security mechanism, for securing a motherboard and a storage medium drive such as a hard disk, is provided. The computer comprises a chassis, a pan, a first latch, a locking mechanism and a lock. The pan, disposed under the chassis, has the motherboard mounted thereon. The first latch, moveably disposed at the chassis, detachably engages the pan so that the pan combines with the chassis. The hard disk drive is accessibly disposed on the chassis. The locking mechanism is moveably disposed at the chassis to lock the hard disk drive in a separable manner.

Computer with a mechanism for securing a storage medium drive and a mother board

A CPU chip-cooling device is provided. The CPU chip is disposed on a chassis, and the cooling device comprises a heat sink, a bracket and a fan. The heat sink is disposed on the CPU chip. The bracket, having a pivot portion and a retention portion, is pivotally disposed on the chassis by the pivot portion. The fan is disposed on the bracket. The fan is adjacent to the heat sink when the bracket engages with the chassis by the retention portion. The fan is away from the heat sink when the retention portion of the bracket does not engage with the chassis.
