A shaper for defining a tip portion of a cosmetic unit that has become worn includes a shaping surface for smoothing a surface of the tip portion and a slot in the shaping surface. The shaping surface is user-selectably placed in contact with the tip portion. An edge disposed at the slot and is engageable for removing material of the tip portion when the shaping surface is in contact with tip portion. The removed material is passed through the slot.

Shaper

There is provided a cosmetic gel. The gel has a multiplicity of colored fibers; one or more gellants; a film former different than the gellant if need for the gel to dry to a smooth film; and one or more liquid vehicles. The gel is substantially translucent, preferably transparent, and has a viscosity of about 100,000 cps to about 300,000 cps. The colored fibers are dispersed within the gel. The cosmetic gel dries to a dry, smooth film upon topical application. There is also a method for imparting color to the skin, hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes.

There is provided a gel composition having a silica powder and a non-volatile compound. The silica powder particles are spherical and porous. The silica powder has a specific gravity about 0.09 to about 0.6, and is present in an amount about 10 wt % to about 50 wt %. The non-volatile compound is present from about 35 wt % to about 90 wt %. The composition has less than about 5 wt % water. There is also provided a method for imparting a powdery feel to the skin, and a method for treating a cosmetic or medical condition of the skin, nail/cuticle, lips or hair.

Gel composition and methods of use

There is provided an emulsion having a substantially non-aqueous phase, a substantially aqueous phase, a vitamin C component and a pigment. Such an emulsion is both cosmetically and aesthetically acceptable.

Pigmented vitamin C composition

The present invention relates to cosmetic compositions that include one or more laked pigments. The present invention relates to improved cosmetic compositions having one or more laked pigments that include one or more metal salts. The present invention also relates to a method of improving compositions that have one or more laked pigments.

Pigmented cosmetic compositions

There is provided a moisturizing cosmetic stick that moisturizes, has good wear, and full and even coverage. The stick comprises: about 1% to about 35% by weight water, about 0.1% to about 8% by weight of a gelling agent, about 1% to about 5% by weight of an emulsifier, about 5% to about 10% by weight of a hard wax, about 5% to about 25% by weight of a lipophilic polar solvent, about 1% to about 5% by weight of a clay, and about 5% to about 30% by weight of a bulking agent. The present invention is also directed to a process for making such a moisturizing stick.

Cosmetic stick

There is provided a cosmetic composition, preferably in the form of a lip gloss composition, that is smooth, glossy, and wear resistant. The composition has an oil or liquid ester and a gel, and optionally, one or more waxes, one or more pigments, and one or more emollients.

Wear resistant cosmetic compositions

There is provided a cosmetic composition having, as film formers, an alkyl cycloalkylacrylate copolymer having C,to C,repeating alkyl units, and an ester containing acids derived from rosin. The composition preferably includes a volatile solvent. The composition may include a block copolymer as a third film former. The composition is transfer and wear resistant and maintains a high shine.

Cosmetic composition for imparting wear resistance and shine

There is provided a cosmetic composition having at least two film formers and a plasticizer in a water-in-solvent emulsion. The film formers are (1) alkyl cycloalkylacrylate copolymers having C,to C,alkyl repeating units, and (2) esters containing acids derived from rosin. The plasticizer is preferably a block copolymer. The composition is transfer and wear resistant and maintains a high shine.

Cosmetic composition for the nails and hair

A method of forming a cosmetic product by back injection molding is disclosed. The method includes providing a pan having at least one removable wall therein. Each removable wall forms at least two compartments in the pan, with each compartment having apertures therein. The method also includes injecting a first liquid cosmetic through a first of the apertures; injecting a second liquid cosmetic through a second of the apertures, in which the first and second liquid cosmetics may be the same or different; setting the first and second liquid cosmetics without compaction; and removing the at least one removable wall. The present invention also includes pans having breakaway or removable spacer walls, and pans having frame-like structures with open bottom panels. The present invention further includes methods and devices for setting and forming the surfaces of the resulting cosmetics.

Cosmetic pan structures and molding methods

The present invention relates to the use of 3'-(L-ascorbyl-2-o-phosphoryl)-cholesterol, 3'-(L-ascorbyl-3-o-phosphoryl)-cholesterol, and their derivatives ('APC compounds'). More specifically, the present invention relates to use of APC compounds to improve the appearance and health of skin, hair, lips and nails. The present invention also relates to methods of topically administering APC compounds to cleanse skin and remove make-up, moisturize skin, enhance the shine and wear of nail coating compositions, and to improve compositions having pigments and/or iron oxides.

Uses of ascorbyl-phosphoryl-cholesterol and compositions for practicing

A wear-resistant cosmetic composition including a styrene-ethylene/propylene mixed block copolymer, preferably from about 0.1 weight percent to about 15 weight percent, in a cosmetically acceptable carrier. The cosmetic composition may also include an alkyl cycloalkylacrylate copolymer, preferably from about 0.1 weight percent to about 15 weight percent.

Wear resistant cosmetics

A cosmetic composition for treating nails, including from about 0.01 weight percent to about 10.0 weight percent stabilized hydrogen peroxide; a pH adjusting agent in an amount sufficient to maintain said cosmetic composition at a pH of from about 8.0 to about 8.5; and water.

Nail bleach

A method of forming a hollow metallic article, comprising the following steps: (a) applying a layer of base metal to a fusible alloy mandrel; (b) applying a layer of precious metal to the layer of base metal; (c) applying a third layer of a non-metallic protective coating to the layer of precious metal; and (d) melting out the fusible alloy mandrel. Hollow articles formed by this method are also disclosed.
