A vertical conduction MOSFET having a reduced on resistance R as well as reduced threshold voltage V , and an improved resistance to punchthrough and walkout has an extremely shallow source diffusion, of less than 0.3 microns in depth and an extremely shallow channel diffusion, of less than about 3 microns in depth. In a P channel version, phosphorus is implanted into the bottom of a contact trench and into the channel region with an implant energy of 400 keV for a singly charged phosphorus ion or 200 keV for a doubly charged ion, thereby to prevent walkout of the threshold voltage.

A vadose zone for a leaching field which enables the construction of a leaching field in terrain where conventional leaching fields cannot be constructed. Such terrain also comprise areas where a high water table exists or where percolation tests fail. The vadose zone is constructed adjacent to the leaching field which is buried in a layer of soil which has been constructed over a nonporous barrier such as a plastic sheet or ledge or clay. The effluent from the leaching field is forced to move sideways out of the leaching field into the adjacent soil. The adjacent soil becomes a vadose zone to complete treating the effluent. The effluent is forced to flow through a prescribed predetermined distance through the vadose zone before it is permitted to disperse through the soil toward the water table or over the clay or ledge.

The invention is directed to a sewage treatment system and method for treating sewage by microbes. The system includes and the method uses a settling tank with residual activated sludge and mixed liquor and an activated biofilm filter. Incoming sewage into the settling tank forms a settling tank liquor mixed liquor. Increments of the settling tank liquor mixed liquor are treated in the activated biofilm filter and returned to the settling tank where the treated mixed liquor improves the quality of the settling tank liquor mixed liquor in the settling tank. The process of treating and returning incremental quantities of the settling tank liquor mixed liquor continues over a Predetermined period of time after which the sewage is fully treated.

Sewage treatment method

The invention is directed to a sewage treatment system comprising a tank in which biological treatment by microorganisms occur in mixed liquor and a circulating loop for removing mixed liquor from the tank and returning oxygen enriched aerated mixed liquor to the tank. The mixed liquor is removed and returned to the tank through a pair spaced apart submerged filters. One alternative construction is to use a pressure tank in the circulation loop to increase the percentage of dissolved oxygen in the aerated mixed liquor.

Sewage treatment system and method

A tray/shroud shipping container which is convertible to a display container upon removal of the shroud. The container is preassembled before being filled with packaged goods from two separate blanks which are joined together to form the container. The container is made from a tray blank for forming the tray and a shroud blank for forming the shroud. The shroud telescopes within the tray and is releasably secured within the tray and covers and protects the packaged goods. The container includes two diagonally opposing vertical fold lines which comprise two substantially parallel lines of weakness. The lines of weakness of each pair are spaced apart by distances least as great as the thickness of the container so that the container can be folded along the lines of weakness thereby collapsing the container to a generally flat condition.

Preassembled tray/shroud container

A generally-flat bayonet handle is provided having an elongated handle section for gripping by the consumer. Extending from each terminus of the handle section is an elongated neck section having a width less than the width of the handle section. Respective ends of the bayonet handles are formed by barb heads attached to the neck sections. Each barb head has thereon at least two barbs which, when inserted into appropriately placed apertures on the sides of a soap or detergent powder carton, are ensnared on a lip of the apparatus and thereby maintain the engagement of the handle on the carton. The combination of the bayonet handle and the carton provide a novel soap or detergent powder package.

Bayonet handle package

A container for housing granular materials and a blank for forming the container. The container is a six sided enclosure including a top wall, a back wall, a bottom wall, a front wall and two end walls. The front wall has an inner layer and an outer layer. The outer layer has a transverse tear strip therein and is attached to the inner layer below this tear strip. A glue flap is attached to the interior surface of the top wall and also attached to the top edge of the inner layer of the front wall along a perforated cut line. This configuration prevents the granular material from migrating between the layers of the front wall during shipping. Each end wall is comprised of several layers. Included are two main layers which together have a top edge. A tear strip panel extension is attached to the main layers below the tear strip. An ear is attached to the tear strip panel extension above the tear strip and also attached to the top wall. The ear holds the top wall against the top edge of the main layers to prevent the granular material from migrating between the tear strip panel extensions and the main panels during shipping.

Carton for granular materials

A portable workbench is constructed so as to accept miter saws of any size in a simple and convenient manner. The workbench comprises a power tool supporting site and a workpiece supporting surface wherein the power tool supporting site and workpiece supporting surface are adjustable in a substantially vertical direction relative to each other. The power tool supporting site and workpiece supporting surface are each constructed of two frames which are adjustable in a substantially horizontal direction so as to accept any size miter saw on the power tool supporting site.
