A screen () is provided comprising at least a first and a second elongate guidance element () extending in a first direction (D) and a structured foil () with a front surface and a back surface, having a variable length (L) in a first direction (D) carried by the elongate guidance elements. The screen has slat shaped portions () and connection portions (') bridging the slat shaped portions. The slat shaped portions, which extend in a second direction (D) transverse to the first direction are provided with photovoltaic elements () that are connectable to external terminals for supply of electric energy. The slate shaped portions are slidably coupled with the guidance elements, to allow them to slide in said first direction along said guidance elements. The connection portions are configured to flex in a direction transverse to the first and the second direction, so as to allow the at least a first and a second slat shaped portion to shift relative to each other in said first direction.

Variable length screen, system comprising the same and method for manufacturing

A method for manufacturing a electronic device is provided having a current collector capable of a high specific charge collecting area and power, but is also achieved using a simple and fast technique and resulting in a robust design that may be flexed and can be manufactured in large scale processing. To this end the electronic device comprising an electronic circuit equipped with a current collector formed by a metal substrate having a face forming a high-aspect ratio structure of pillars having an interdistance larger than 600 nm. By forming the high-aspect structure in a metal substrate, new structures can be formed that are conformal to curvature of a macroform or that can be coiled or wound and have a robust design.

Device and method of manufacturing high aspect ratio structures

A method is provided for assembly of a micro-electronic component, in which a conductive die bonding material is used. This material includes a conductive thermosettable resin material or flux based solder and a dynamic release layer adjacent to the conductive thermoplastic material die bonding material layer A laser beam is impinged on the dynamic release layer, adjacent to the die bonding material layer, in such a way that the dynamic release layer is activated to direct conductive die bonding material matter towards the pad structure to be treated, to cover a selected part of the pad structure with a transferred conductive die bonding material. The laser beam is restricted in timing and energy, in such a way that the die bonding material matter remains thermosetting. Accordingly, adhesive matter can be transferred while preventing that the adhesive is rendered ineffective by thermal overexposure in the transferring process.

Method for bonding bare chip dies

A method of placement of a component on a stretchable substrate is described. A base substrate, having a stretchable substrate layer, and a flexible foil, having an integral arrangement of multiple flexible foil components, are aligned, so as to be used in a reel based manufacturing process. Through lamination of the base substrate and the flexible foil an electro/optical via connection between in plane interconnecting traces on the stretchable substrate layer and component pads of the integral component arrangement is provided. The integral arrangement of flexible foil components are mechanically separated. The method may be used in a manufacturing process for multi-foil systems.

Component placement on flexible and/or stretchable substrates

An optical sensor for measuring a force distribution includes a substrate, one or more light emitting sources, and one or more detectors provided on the substrate, with the detectors responsive to the light emitted by the sources. A deformable opto-mechanical layer is also provided on the substrate with light responsive properties depending on a deformation of the opto-mechanical layer. The design of the sensor and particularly the use of optical components in a deformable layer make it possible to measure the contact force accurately, including in some embodiments, the direction of the contact force. The sensor is scalable and adaptable to complex shapes.

The invention provides an optoelectric device, in particular an organic light emitting diode device comprising a substrate, a first electrode applied on the substrate, a second electrode, a layer of an organic light emitting material which is arranged in between the first electrode and the second electrode, and a multilayer seal applied onto the second electrode which multilayer seal comprises at least one layer of a high density material and at least one layer of an organic material in which organic material a moisture scavenging agent has been incorporated, which moisture scavenging agent comprises an organic composition that does not generate an acidic proton when subjected to hydrolysis. The invention also relates to an article comprising said organic light emitting device, and a method for preparing said device.
